I've watched this video twice now, just for pleasure
03.12.2025 14:36 β π 247 π 32 π¬ 11 π 6Liked it, but I kind of lost interest as it went on, think I would have liked it better as a movie
02.12.2025 21:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0New video out now! I think 2025 has been a great year for television, and to honor that, this year, for the first time, I've made a dedicated video in which I rank my 10 favorite shows of 2025, and also list a few honorable mentions: youtu.be/b1tGOxFM3NE
02.12.2025 15:46 β π 8 π 4 π¬ 2 π 0New video out early on Nebula, in which I discuss my 10 favorite TV shows of 2025: nebula.tv/videos/lsoo-...
01.12.2025 16:05 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1Lots of articles and videos around at the moment, about how a lot of modern cinema is missing something. If you ingest one of these explainers, please let it be this one.
This gentleman truly knows what makes good cinema. And articulates it all perfectly imho.

For anyone who wants a smart, focused, professionally assembled explanation for why movies have changed their visuality perception, this video is a must-see. Bravo, @tomvanderlinden.bsky.social #filmsky
25.11.2025 13:42 β π 8 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0I love these deep dives into why current cinema often doesn't feel as real as older films, and yeah, I do think the lack of deep focus and interesting cinematography is part of it
www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvwP...
I loved Train Dreams specifically because of how, despite it not being very subtle at times, it gives the audience a vantage point that the characters didn't have, and in doing so, it lets us find our own meanings beyond the ones that the characters themselves dictated
25.11.2025 10:38 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I get why people compare Train Dreams to Terrence Malick, but the latter likes to put you directly in the interiority of its subjects while the former distinctly keeps you on the outside - one is about identification, the other about witnessing; different things, both valid
25.11.2025 10:38 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0This is now the most popular video I'v ever madeπ
Thank you so much everyone!
This is a great video from @tomvanderlinden.bsky.social on why films often don't feel as real any more and the (haptic) elements that trick your body into thinking you are actually there. It explains why I move in my seat so much during the test run scene in Top Gun: Maverick #films #science π§ͺ
24.11.2025 12:04 β π 22 π 7 π¬ 1 π 0Someone compiled all the (good) movies mentioned in the video in a letterboxd list, check it out here: boxd.it/QdQFg
20.11.2025 21:30 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I know this is making the rounds, but I found it super intriguing and it hits on some thoughts about the experience of watching "modern" films in comparison to films from the 70s, of which I've been watching many recently...

15.11.2025 21:37 β π 61 π 13 π¬ 6 π 13I watched the actual debut film by Christopher Nolan, which had been considered lost media for 31 years, until someone finally found it: youtu.be/0ReH175Inr8

04.11.2025 11:00 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I saw Bugonia last week, and I'm feeling conflicted about it. It's well made, with great performances, plotting and music, but... thematically, it's kind of a mess: www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPLA...
