Well, in the cinema-related video essay space, it does look like a lot of the attention has shifted toward what I guess can be best called the post-cinemastix-movement, where a bunch of relatively smaller and newer creators are doing quite well

I feel like young folks now have a much better grasp of the basics of editing, audio mixing, storytelling... etc., and new creators come out the gate swinging. Makes it harder for the old folks who have been mostly coasting on 'experience'

(Although, I do wonder if Conclave slipped on under the radar and is far bleaker than people realize... I hope so!).
