I ended up staying a week in NYC, thankfully work paid for it, because there were no planes out. It was a different world. I think about this every time I see blackout blinds.

That was a life ago before I pivoted to medical technology and science. I worked in finance for Invesco. It was my first time in NYC. It was before the age a quick txt to say I'm ok. Parents were terrified in Honduras because all the phones lines jammed.

The alarm went off at 6am, but I thought it was 4am—the blackout blinds made it totally dark. So I went back to bed. The maid that did turnover service probably saved my life.

My alarm had supposed to off at 6am. I was supposed to hike downtown to the Windows of the World to the North Tower and have breakfast, following dad’s advice who was an architect and fan of the building.

Right about now 24 yrs ago, I was brushing my teeth at the NYC Midtown Sofitel because the alarm didn’t go off as I expected, so I overslept. I had CNN and heard the reports of a plane hitting the WTC.

Quarterly reminder to make phone calls great again. Instead of 72 txt messages to find out if it's ok to call.

My wife just informed me that the super close Eagles - KC game we just saw was actually the one from 2023 in all its streaming glory. The good news is I was rooting for the Eagles! (bc I had been rooting for the Bills before).

I don't think the typical American that might run a private business will understand/care why univ's have to charge 65% to keep the water running. I don't blame them. Also, that indirect % magically goes way for foundations or unrestricted gifts for that same R&D. Very few go get under recovery.
