Starbucks to Close Stores, Cut Jobs in $1 Billion Restructuring
Starbucks Corp. said it will close stores and eliminate 900 jobs in a $1 billion restructuring effort as the company amps up a turnaround plan under new Chief Executive Officer Brian Niccol.
Starbucks is laying off 900 corporate workers and closing some North American locations.
The cost? A quick $1 billion. The move comes almost a year to the day CEO Brian Niccol came in to save Starbucks. Is this a step in the right direction?
