Two linen table runners, festooned with the traditional floral and geometric patterns often seen in Ukranian folk art.
The results of our block-printing (vybiyka / ΠΠΈΠ±ΡΠΉΠΊΠ°) experiments with the Ukrainian Association of Saint John, yesterday.

Two little cave-bears sharing a cave-beehive, dripping with cave-honey, whilst two fanged cave-bees flit about above their heads.
Another original #watercolour for everyone to ignore: a #watercolor #cartoon I've made for my husbear's birthday. Yes, I'd been focused on the drawing and marked the date wrong ("Feb" instead of "Jan"). Yes, cave #bears went extinct ca. 20,000 years ago. Let's see YOU draw the damn card π. Enjoy!

I prefer "Day" for many reasons. Also, the longer I contemplate the setting - everyone holed-up in an underground bunker with no outside contact or hope for rescue and the social order unraveling between the scientists and civilian engineers vs. the soldiers - the more hellish (and timely) it seems.

Nothing terrible to confess, here. Not only is the 7th Doctor era one of the best, IMHO, but I'd also argue that Ace is one of the Doctor's very best companions ever. She also turns up for the 13th Doctor's final story, and it's lovely.

Two little love-bears, nestled in a tree, with a rather alarmed owl looking on.
It's been an exhausting year in Little Bearville. Time to nest, for a little while (at least), with hopes of good fortune for you and yours in 2026. #HappyNewYear to you π π»

A freshly planted Vimy oak sapling stands behind a wooden cross staked into the earth beside the Jervis Bay- Ross Memorial Parm cenotaph in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.
Proud to say I helped plant this little Vimy oak sapling after the #remembranceday ceremonies wrapped here this morning.

Oh, dear Lord! Is it ever. I mean, I love Peter Benchley's articles for the National Geographic, but his fiction writing badly needed a compass. Even at age seven, I knew this (and what did that word "vagina" even mean π€£ππ€£???).

Fun story: I'd read Peter Benchley's "JAWS" at age seven after fainting while watching the movie. I'd wanted the rest of the story from the point AFTER the fisherman's head appeared. The book didn't have THAT scene, but it DID feature a lot of extramarital fucking I was FAR too young to process π€£.

We really enjoyed it. It's significantly better than "Tron: Legacy" and a much better film, overall, (with much more engaging characters) than we'd been expecting. Trent Reznor's soundtrack added that extra layer of awesomeness to the whole thing.

Made off with a nice haul of classic National Geographics at a community book sale this weekend. Got the famous one with the spooky-lookin' lady on the cover and that cool holographic skull π. Reminders of better days.
