12.01.2026 09:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Whoooo! Nice to have you here!
12.01.2026 09:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Merry Christmas, Graphite community! You have waited patiently and it is finally here: the Graphite native desktop app is yours to download on Windows, Mac, and Linux. This limited public release candidate build (RC1) is available to download in our Discord (join via the link on the website).
25.12.2025 11:56 β π 82 π 22 π¬ 3 π 0This is *PERFECT*. (and if you like this sort of thing you should go watch my @entagma.bsky.social tutorial on how to create a version of this same data in 3D using Houdini and QGIS entagma.com/guest-tutori...)
09.12.2025 16:20 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Though I do need to shout out @getplasticity.bsky.social for having an installer that just works and @sidefx.bsky.social for having a really, really good and quick tech support team!
19.10.2025 14:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0My experience as well. Everything that can be installed through the software center runs rock solid. For everything that still needs a manual install (aka all professional software) you have the Linux experience from 10 years ago. Still more enjoyable than Win11 tho...
19.10.2025 14:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Probably my favourite setup this year! Hope you'll like it as well!
10.10.2025 16:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Awesome! Those mask options look really good as well!

That's so cool! I did not know that context aware scale also used a shortest path algorithm behind the scenes! And accumulating values reduces the probability of paths moving sideways along a row?
I wonder if you could stretch an image by inverting the map and adding pixels with averaged values...
Find shortest path, but the contrast between pixels acts as cost? Or is it more complex than that?

I recently modded an old dslr of mine to shoot infrared and took it up a mountain.

And if youβre in any shape, way or form interested in actually using these tools for their intended purpose, please take a look at the other talks as well! So much cool stuff presented by so many great people!

SideFX recently invited me to KineFEST in Viborg, Denmark to talk about my (weird) usecases of KineFX. You can now watch it online!

So the only useful thing that came out of that whole metaverse hype is 3D software with some collaboration tools sprinkled in? π
Anyways - interesting to see Disney USD being used in industrial plant planning!

Any Blender animators out there who take on shortish commissions? Preferably more stylised almost anime style stuff? Please share if you see this! Might be a little bit of work on something cool for a pitch deck.

The new episode of the free course APEX by Magnus is online:

So excited for this course - the first two episodes are already so so good at going into one of my main stumbling blocks with watching Unreal tuts: not really getting how Unreal expects me to *think*, and my Houdini mindset just wasn't porting across properly. Great work, @chriskopic.bsky.social!

I've previously tried and failed multiple times trying to explain APEX from a non animator/rigger perspective, so I'm really really really happy to have Magnus from Tumblehead helping us out here!

11.04.2025 13:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Pro Tip for getting those @raphaelrau.bsky.social style hyperrealistic electronics renderings: Spend 3 months designing electronics, doing cad, 3d printing, soldering, glueing and coding to just take a photo instead. (May take slightly longer though π )
