04.12.2025 18:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Just updated my landing page (getlode.app) to be a bit more catchy. Also swapped out the mockup for an actual screenshot. Added pricing info with a beta offer.
And for the long term SEO I now added a blog section to it, which I will start adding posts to regularly

Another productive dayπ Finished the Windows version of getlode.app. It contains a major UI revision to support crossplatform, and also resulted in both dark/light themes. It's also an update for macOS, since it now can run in the background.
Next focus: Marketing
#buildinpublic #solodev #devtool
Dark mode example of Lode
I'm going to try and get some traction on the new beta I'm working on for my developer tool (getlode.app). I just finished the windows version and a ui revamp. It now has a light-mode as well π
Still have to work out the last few kinks and come up with some marketing mails/posts
Ooh, I will look into that. Thanks! Never used azure and it's still not cheap, but much more reasonable
I'm in doubt on whether I should just self sign my app for the service verification I want to do. Signing with a trusted cert can always still be done when I get some (payed) users
Yeah, I don't get why they can't do it like apple: Register with a (small) fee with a creditcard or with some small verification; Trust the certificate. Revoke the certificate and never hand you another one if you betray the trust...
Now it's just another money machine for 3rd party cert providers
If anyone has tips to do it cheaper, please let me know ;)
I wanted to sign my code so that I can verify it from a service to make sure not every app on the computer can contact the service and do certain administrator actions without verification
Jeez, I always though Apple was expensive for signing your code...
Now I was looking into codesigning an app for Windows, but the certificates easily cost 200 euros for an individual if you're not willing to commit to multi year contracts. Let alone all requirements on verification... #buildinpublic

The disadvantage of building tools besides a regular job, sometimes I don't have to time to continue...
Today, this is not the case, allowing me to continue with Lode, and what a productive day it is... Got a first MVP for mac working π
#buildinpublic #developer #devtools #tools
We give our servers preventative maintenance so they don't crash. Our brains deserve the same.
Taking a wellness day today to keep the 'main system' (me) running smoothly.
When's your next 'maintenance' day?
#buildinpublic #indiedev #founderlife #selfcare
After some disappointing debug sessions yesterday, today is working better. Sometimes you just need some good sleep (The extra hour was a nice extra ππ»).
Finally got my wails (Golang) app working with a macos privileged helper π
#buildinpublic #indiehacker
If you find out, let me know since I'm also building a developer focused tool, and trying to figure out the same thing ;)
25.10.2025 12:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Spent the whole morning debugging why my Helper tool in a mac app cannot be registered. Not the best of debugging sessions...
On a positive note, I already have way more waitlist signups for getlode.app than I had users on previous toolsπ

Just received mail that my first medium article is published π
Let me know what you think: medium.com/p/8aa41f279e6f #buildinpublic #blogging #development #devtools
Try to not focus on the features of your product. Instead try to focus on what pains a user experiences which are solved by your tool

22.10.2025 06:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Today I'm starting on the MVP for Lode (getlode.app) after finishing the landing page this morning (Last step was the opengraph meta/image).
22.10.2025 06:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Not all days are as productive as you hope. After some failures in designin an opengraph image for my landing page, I paused and instead updated my reddit, medium and bsky bio texts.
Still progress I guess... #buildinpublic #devtools
I actually develop on macOS, but no matter your OS, localhost is not a good replica. The blogpost describes what kind of differences you can expect though. One example would be how browsers handle cookies differently for localhost
19.10.2025 19:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If you're interested in a all in one solution, the tool I'm building will help with this. You can always subscribe on the landing page I'm building. (it's not finished, but subscribing works...)
Check it out at getlode.app
By promoting on certain reddit communities, by writing blog posts and trying to get those in the right spots, and also by trying to get my SEO in good order (will be more longterm though)
19.10.2025 18:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I use it through a locally resolved .test TLD π That's why I can test locally as if it is in production
19.10.2025 17:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0For just the website (as long as it doesn't have any functionality besides marketing) I simply run it locally during development, and go straight to production (hosted on Cloudflare).
19.10.2025 15:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Today I'm working on a landing page for an idea I have for a new tool: Lode. The design is quite standard, but just for checking demand it should suffice I think #buildinpublic #devtools
19.10.2025 11:11 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0I was writing a blogpost about why you shouldn't use localhost during development directly.
My current title is "Stop using localhost: bugs it creates and how to preventΒ them"
I actually just submitted it in the hopes of getting it published on 'Level Up Coding' on Medium
A slow Saturday morning, the perfect time to continue writing my first blog post. #blogging #buildinpublic
18.10.2025 09:20 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0I think buildinpublic is more about sharing what you do, or where you're going, and not about sharing details about the how. You shouldn't show how your secret sauce works, just show what results that sauce delivers.
User data wise; just don't share those. Only global stats.
I found plenty people complaining about the problem I want to solve. I'm always afraid that specifically looking for this leads to tunnelvision though.
I'm not the best at networking so I guess I'm trying to find ways to connect with my ICP.
Getting a blogpost published on medium might be a way
