Water of Leith area is lovely, and Leith is great for pubs and restaurants. I wouldn't necessarily spend money on things like the Castle unless you're a history buff - you can walk up to the Esplanade for the view.

The Borders are quite lovely (but tend not to get quite so much love as the Highlands) - not a lot of 'attractions' but some great walks and historical sites, and the eastern side readily accessible by train from Edinburgh or a short drive. Dumfries and Galloway also beautiful...

And now for someone with a similar name, whose email address is one full stop away from mine, in Virginia, US. All of these emails appear legit and contain personal information (so the company is potentially breaching GDPR if my emails are similarly going to other folk).

Stepping away from the unmitigated batshittery of the previous most powerful country in the world - has anyone else been getting emails intended for people with very similar names and email addresses? I've had emails for people with the same name as mine in Rhode Island, US and Ontario, Canada.
