It is absolutely stunning how real and serene this place is compared to Long Musket's dumpster fire. There's no guessing games about who's real and who's a machine given life. It's nice. I like it here. :D

On a side-note it is GENUINELY fucking depressing that the best palette change in the game is shiny-locked. Thanks, TPC.

Okay so Maushold is the only one where I had to blatantly break my own rules to make this possible because just moving the hue slider only affects the barely-noticeably shirt and pants that the two older mice wear. Did you ever notice they wore clothes? I didn't until today. But after messing with the RGB levels some, I was able to make 'em pink. It's still pretty subtle, but I would've liked the pink mice.

The second and last one where I had to bend the rules a bit; I had to separate Tinkaton and her hammer into two separate layers so I could adjust them separately. I actually REALLY like that with Tinkaton's existing shiny they made her hammer the colour of a shiny Corviknight, that is a fantastic little detail and I think it should stay... but I do wish they made the lil' goober herself change colours too because Tinkaton herself remains exactly the same colour in-game. Only the hammer changes. And so I said "fuck it, you're blue now."

Baxcalibur was another hard one to get a decent colour for using just the hue slider, but I think brown looks pretty good on him. The Godzilla vibe they were going for is still there, I think. The brown makes him look more ancient to me. Also, I'm a fan of eyes being blue.

I understand the whole "everything is chrome in the future" thing they were going for with the Iron Paradoxes (even if it makes all of them look bland as a beige wall) but Iron Treads definitely got done the dirtiest by the fact that he was already mostly chrome to begin with. In-game they just took what little contrast he had with the black and ripped it off to replace it with more chrome, which is just depressing. Personally, I honestly think the sentient roomba gets a lot of mileage by just hitting him with another case of "what if it was blue?" Kinda makes his neon lights look like a starry night sky. I like this one. He looks more friendly.

Of course, there are still a lot of shinies in Pokémon that I really do love and I wouldn't change for the world, like Trevanant, Gossifleur, Tyrantrum, Ninetales and Volcarona. But there's a lot of shinies that are in desperate need of a glow-up. I hope they get the attention they need one day.

I know Gengar's not technically from Gen 9 but good god they need to do SOMETHING with him, especially since Scarlet & Violet doesn't have the same sparkle cue in the overworld that Arceus had. Obviously he'd still look way better with the ghostly white that Mega Gengar had, but eh... it's serviceable.

They did all the starters' shinies dirty. Which sucks, because Paldea legitimately has my favourite trio of starters behind only Hoenn. I love all three of them. And I think Meowscarada looks good with the subtle blues. I think this is one of the ones where it's the MOST apparent that I just dragged the hue slider a little to the side, but I still think it looks clean.

Okay finding a good shiny for Quaquaval using JUST the hue slider that WASN'T a radioactive green was legitimately really difficult, but I think the gingerbread duck looks pretty alright all things considered. I would've liked to see something like this in-game.

Honestly, Skeledirge probably got off the best out of the three Paldea starters with his in-game shiny, but this purple looks SO fucking gorgeous and I wish they went with something like this instead! I still love my fire crocodile, nothing will ever STOP me from loving my fire crocodile, but Gamefreak... please make him urple

It was harder to get good results for some more than others, and I did end up having to bend the rules I set for myself with two of them. But honestly, I would be okay with Gamefreak just doing something like this for most of the shinies considering how often they're on a time crunch.

I don't even like Gholdengo but he deserved so much better than what he got, can you IMAGINE if we got red jelly baby cheese string man? This would be SO much more worth the grind!

I do to some extent get why they didn't change the mask and cloak colours so as to not cause confusion between the forms or fuck with the lore, but...surely something like this would've been fine? Just a LITTLE more autumny while still keeping green aesthetic.

This would have been so fucking fire, I don't even shiny hunt but I would START if it meant I could have an Armarouge like this.

A bit more subtle of a change for Ceruledge but I honestly think this would've been fine. The spectral green makes me think of ectoplasm and I think for a ghost type that's a pretty good sign.

Sometimes I really be thinking about how Scarlet & Violet's shinies just...don't really shiny all that much. Like, there's little to no discernable changes. I was curious how much better they could be if you just took the original colour scheme and moved the hue slider and this is what I got.

Okay, I have removed all obstacles to a good night's sleep. I have eaten, I have background audio for my brain to focus on instead of getting clouded with excess thoughts, I have three different blankets to keep me snug and cozy, surely I will-
