The one bit of good news in the last week or so: the doctor that does my ECT is back in network.

This makes the prospect of winter much less daunting, since that’s generally when the low moods for my bipolar disorder really hit. It’s a relief to know that I have a safety net.

I’m not looking for any words of affirmation. I know I’m doing what needs to be done. But I’m feeling particularly beaten down by the isolation of it right now. it seems like we do this to mothers a lot as a society. They carry so many things, including the blame for everything they can’t balance.

Struggling with motherhood this week. Feeling overwhelmed by being asked to carry the weight of everything but also being blamed for all of it too.
Ex’s family blaming me for what’s going on with Kate, ex just letting it happen while also expecting me to handle her care too and saying he supports it

I am begging the mainstream media to talk less about the East Wing & more about the loss of SNAP funding for the next few days.

The East Wing is gone. We can’t change that.

We *can* help people prepare for the loss of SNAP.

We can urge folks to donate to food banks.

We can give them warning.

Two of my four siblings have now also reached out to tell me they are there if we need them. I have a good family.

Apparently things got worse last night. The grandparents found and it’s really bas. And ex was not home to be a buffer when it happened. They said some really awful shit to my kid. And about me.
I think my mom is fully prepared to commit a murder on our behalf, so if something happens, no it didn’t.

Part of our appointment with social work yesterday was to get us set up with all of the services and things of the university offers, and the community organizations they work with, but if I can’t find what I need through there I will definitely reach out!

Stuff like this is not surprising? It’s just a reminder that the divorce was not out of nowhere lol. At some point I want to pull him aside and either punch him in the face or give him a strong talking to.

I have to figure out where to start. It was hard enough for me. And I don’t know how it works for a minor? And the cost and stuff? TBD

Apparently her dad also told her it is her responsibility to tell his parents about her transition. Despite the fact that he lives with his parents (which means she does too) and he knows that they will not be supportive. So he’s putting her in a really tough position. And I’m NOT happy about it.

Kate also went with her dad to open up a bank account yesterday and said that the process was traumatic because of her name and wants me to start looking into the process of getting a name change. I have a verbal support from her dad but nothing more.

We have an appointment with the doctor next month to talk about specific care options, I have to find a psychiatrist that can write a letter of readiness for gender affirming hormones which is apparently a whole separate process from seeing the doctor about the hormones.

Took Kate to her first appointment with the UW Health gender care folks yesterday (literally drove past the hotel I stayed at all weekend for Gamehole). Our social worker is amazing and I’m happy we’re getting the process going. But getting an even longer to do list is overwhelming.

You’ll hear a similar refrain from me on Character Creation Cast all the time. “We had this amazing session where we did x, y, and z!”

That’s great. But you did all that in spite of the game mechanics/rules. Not because of them! And how much better could it be if a game supported it instead?
