I'm having the damnedest time with this scarf. The yarn is thin and springy. I have no control of it.

I think save that pattern for a classic solid yarn and find a more loosely constructed sweater for this yarn.

The other thing to look at is textured stitches, like the various slip stitch patterns. Stockinette and garter really show stitch size discrepancies. Sorry to hear about the carpal tunnel and tendonitis. Sounds painful, and I hope that's controlled.

I prefer 100% regular wool. I don't care for superwash,

#ShowMeYourKnits lace week. Knitting gives me joy because although I am slow and my tension goes wonky, I can still do it. I have essential tremor and no feeling in my hands, and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to. Lace hides the tension issues pretty well. KnitPicks Palette ๐Ÿงถ #knitsky

Then don't bother. Maybe you can get me a picture of it at Christmas time.

I've reached the end of my pictures, and now I'm going back to the beginning looking for pictures I passed by. These are naturalized crocus that we started in 1990 with one bulb at the base of a sapling. 2/3/2012, so they were sprouting early that year. #photography

I cheated. I ordered round pins with sayings on them. I plan on pinning them to the brim to cover the glitched stitches where I had to increase in 1x1 ribbing.

I'd go for more contrast than that.

Thank you. I practiced lace on worsted weight scarves, but now I use fingering weight, and on rare occasions, lace weight. This was a gift for my brother.

I didn't keep my pattern names attached to the pictures, but I know the yarn is KnitPicks Palette. Perhaps @kww.bsky.social can get me a picture of it in the wild, off of a multi-colored blocking board. #ShowMeYourKnits lace edition. #knitsky ๐Ÿงถ

I went out to Fort Monroe on 2/13/26 for the Great Backyard Bird Count. You'll notice the total lack of birds in this picture. I saw very few that morning. This happens to be a picture of three buffleheads that dove when they sensed the camera. #photography

I made the tassel first. I was following the pattern, and that's the order they did them in.

I lay them flat on a foam board and tug them into the proper shape, pinning them to the board with T-pins. Let sit overnight or longer until completely dry.

I have a tub I soak them in with cold water. Have to leave them sit in the water for an hour to make certain all of the fiber gets wet. Then I roll them up in towels to squeeze all of the water out. Never wring or twist - be very gentle. once all of the excess water is squeezed out,

It was bitter cold and not even my good wool coat was keeping me warm. The wind was strong enough to make it difficult to stand perfectly still.

Overcast sky with one break to let in a tinge of pink from the sunrise. The beach in the foreground has clumps of grass growing in the sand and a light dusting of snow drifted about. The Chesapeake Bay is almost the same color as the clouds.

Frigid sunrise at Fort Monroe beach. Sometimes the effort of getting out there is barely worth it. Not a spectacular sunrise. The beach with the drifting snow was interesting. #photography #sunrise
