On Monday, Gabrielle joined Daisy and Lily to wait for us at the Rainbow Bridge. Ten days ago, she started having seizures because of congestive heart failure. She could only give us two years. But at least we gave her love, security, and a large loving family for her final years. She was loved.

Well, it's not Vermont, but it's pretty cold this morning for eastern Connecticut!

I'll say what I've said before: If the service is free, you're the product. I haven't researched Bluesky's business model, but unless it really relies on charitable donations, someone in there is making money from selling something. Cynical? Yeah. A 15-year Facebook user.

I saw a blurb in my Google news feed this morning that bsky is trying to fend off a purchase by Musk. May just be someone's speculation, but it did leave me to wonder whether the public social benefit status really has any meaning -- that is, constraints on how it's managed.

I must have been on FB for 15+ years, starting shortly after I got to UVM. Disappointed to see it go downhill, and at an accelerating rate. Let's hope bsky doesn't go the same way.
