I no longer want to kill myself hearing the sound of my own voice, don't have to deal with disabling menstrual cycles that put me in ER multiple times anymore, and it reduces my POTS symptoms when I'm consistent with it

GL with that bit! I know there's a few different treatments for it but I'm only really familiar with OTC minoxodil (which works great in my experience, bar the toxicity to cats and dry skin)

Yeah it's generally not great to use- THAT SAID I'm not sure this would really apply to single use vials. But for multi-use vials absolutely try and avoid large needles 🤙

Thinking about some of the goals I have with transition, a lot of it feels very far away. Just trying to not perseverate about it.

Btw if I see anyone start fear mongering about DIY HRT in this day and age I'm going to write you off as an ally and ignore anything you have to say about liberation of any kind.

Word of advice: If you're using a multi dose HRT vial, don't use a large gauge needle to draw it up; it will break up the rubber stopper and get debris in the liquid. Anyone who tells you need to because the liquid is "too thick" is a fucking idiot don't listen to them.

There's also a level of imposter syndrome going along with it, where since I've lost my ability to do my shots regularly (largely bc of disability) and have question stability financially to keep transitioning I feel like celebrating at all feels....odd, at best.

I don't quite have the energy to elaborate super in depth, but something I wanted to do really early on was get together with my friends and go out to celebrate that.

I am currently however in a position where it's conflicting with my living situation, and no longer having some of those friends.

I'll be a year on Testosterone next week and am having a lot of complicated feelings towards that.

I don't regret it, at all. I am thinking about the barriers I've faced in trying to transition by myself though quite a bit and that's where the mixed feelings come in.

When I was last working I ended up in the ER from overworking my body and decided it was best for me to stay home especially since my disabled child was already struggling so much with the caretaker he had at the time. I also have a trans child so we live in California where it's safest for her and my family in general as two of us are disabled. I'm working towards getting on disability at the moment as well as exploring options to be paid to be my son's caregiver as his behavior gets worse when I'm not the one caring for him.
