My 7th great-grandfather, William Campbell, Sr., migrated from the Isle of Man via Scotland to the British colony of New York, where he was buried in 1760.

His son, Lt. William Campbell, Jr., fought in the Revolutionary War. He was buried in Rockland, NY, in 1799.

The attitude the psalm commends involves delighting in Yhwh’s teaching—especially (we might add) when its story seems irrelevant or it takes a different stance from us.
That is the moment when studying Scripture becomes interesting, significant, and important. We then delight in it.
