We used to love these. My Dad would always be a pudding promoter and treacle or chocolate would always be waiting in the cupboard … with extra custard of course!
Thanks for sparking the memories. Had no idea they had been discontinued either!

New study suggests that metastatic cancer cells may evade the immune system by stealing mitochondria from immune cells and setting up a ‘shield’ that protects them from being killed by immune cells. Wiley little bastards.

To Dawn, missed every day x
Great culture can save lives. Literally.
Amazing letter in today’s @thetimes.com about Tom Stoppard
Government has published one of those quiet but important documents that might get overlooked as it is not 'newsy'. The headline finding is that £1 of public R&D investment generates £8 in net economic benefits for the UK over the long term

DIY SOS - so touching, what a lovely family 💛
It’s always a team effort - well done all!

What was really helpful was that teachers/pupils helped make them feel welcomed back. They had notes and input so they could access learning easily and felt like they could still make it.
And make it they did…!
Attendance is definitely a protective factor. It’s caring why they are not there though.
Children/young people sometimes are ill, sometimes too ill to attend and I think it’s okay to say out loud that this is part of life. To Emma who had recurrent tonsillitis and Sally who had glandular fever who really wanted to be at school, they couldn’t help it. Can we be careful not to alienate?

Curriculum - BIG to discuss.
- Great pedagogy
- High expectations accompanied by chunking and really good scaffolding
Great use of AfL.
Can think of spc examples where children have succeeded in high challenge content due to approach.
Planning still pivotal IMO.
Hope lots join in - I’ll follow.

I think schools (many) with great culture and ethos frequently ask that q.
Belonging is so big - and also can happen when people help you adhere to boundaries, develop self regulation, become independent.
Really strong relational practice.
Not going to do this justice in short space!

Scouting on this too.
Don’t think so re behaviour policy but do think curriculum is an opportunity.

What about white working-class girls? The attainment of disadvantaged white girls isn’t much better than for the boys, yet the struggles they are facing are being overlooked, school leaders warn

In Liverpool only 73% have had both MMR doses, one of the lowest in the country.
In 2016, the UK was declared measles free. Now, Alder Hey has treated 17 children with measles in just the last month!
The number of deaths is going to continue to increase.

This is so touching and a wonderful way to remember Dawn.

Brilliant to see DfE announcing 1000 Best Start Family Hubs today. We've called for new Family Hubs for years, to reverse over a decade of cuts to family support services.
Evidence shows they benefit long-term child development, particularly for disadvantaged children.

Wales doesn’t have EHCPs and the analysis her by David Thomas is really interesting.
