Welp, it only took 2 weeks of chilling out for my new job to start. I was shipped over to a different union. At this stage it's only a 3 month contract but it's money coming in and I'm actually happy with the role.

Unfortunately things didn't quite work out...but I'm not high and dry as I could be getting shipped over to a different union instead. It's almost a done deal, just waiting for the intricacies to be done.

And here's the update: I threw my resignation in on Tuesday. I was made an offer by my work's union to join them, and I said yes.

Nearly a month later and I'm still not perfect, unfortunately the years have finally gotten to me so I've made my decision on my future. Watch this space for an update, I feel like I've made the right choice.

I'm doing ok at the moment, I think everything over the past few years and a few stupid decisions from management at work over the last couple of weeks just finally built up, and going to work last night was the trigger that set me off

It finally happened...I had a mental breakdown at work yesterday and now I'm off for 3 days to recover from it all.

In this year's state government railway "lost cause" auction, we have a lovely S set missing its windows, seats, lights and pantograph or this lovely 48 Class locomotive. They could be yours for the low starting bid price of only $1000.

It's awesome seeing the progress and difference between January and December, great work. I've always got admiration for artists because it's something I physically can't do.

So what did 2023 look like for me?

- Became union delegate at work, successfully negotiated a 11 percent payrise over 3 years along with other new benefits.

- Epileptic seizure free for 6 years

- Made it to 30 when I should have been a vegetable as a kid because of my brain damage.

Unfortunately the costs involved with the last move weren't recouped as quick as I was hoping so we are asking for any donations, no matter how small, to help cover the associated costs with the move

...it's not double standards when your own actions are your undoing.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. After being SAed, it's a well deserved outcome

Hmm, being the only sibling/family member not invited to my sister's wedding is really getting to me. I know we haven't had the best relationship and it was really rocky as kids and I expected not to be invited but damn it really makes me wonder.

Oh well, an eye for an eye, I guess.

October is generally a bitch of a month for me mostly because it digs up some memories with people who are no longer with me. Have a photo from the Red October bushfires of 2013, I'm not a fireground photographer but I did whip my camera out to take some photos when I was behind a firehose.
