Current streamlined DOOMLODE setup. Fully portable (well, moveable) and battery powered. Guess I need to finally resume working on that second LP now ☒️

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported me in 2024, whether you’re buying, streaming, listening, sharing, commenting, messaging, reviewing or including me in your mixes & shows. It’s all amazing and greatly appreciated.

I truly rely on every sale and stream. It’s a lifeline to me. I’m autistic and haven't been able to work a day job in 25 years, so music is my only (vanishingly small) source of income.

It was incredibly challenging for me to set up a business and run every aspect of it. But I'm proud of what I've managed to achieve as a one-man operation, literally doing everything myself.

I struggle with intense anxiety when it comes to communicating and socialising, so promotion has always been my weak point, and it's also the reason I don't perform live. I’m frankly amazed that anyone is even aware of my music at all!

No new releases currently lined up for 2025. It’s been a rough last few years for me. Physical and mental health issues have taken a toll which has impacted my creative flow and made it difficult to keep things going.

So you may not hear from me as much next year (and your wallets may be relieved πŸ˜…) but please don't forget me ❀️ Keep listening. Hopefully, I'll be back.

If you're in West Yorkshire in need of something to do, why not wander through the well- preserved walls of the town's historic castle or explore the rugged beauty of Frickley Park? Alternatively, you could visit the 1950s council house in Pontefract where a family were violently terrorised by a poltergeist called The Black Monk (or Fred to those who knew him).

This is textbook territory for Blackpool musician Neil Scrivin's The Night Monitor project. In August 1966, the Pritchard family moved into 30 East Drive and the appearance of inexplicable dust deposits and green foam bubbling from the taps soon progressed to the slashing of family photographs and slapped faces. Scrivin largely avoids moments of overt violence - "Invisible Hands" and "A Study In Destructive Haunting" opt for subtle and sustained electronic dread, capturing the queasy internal terror of the victims. Doomlode 2, from another of Scrivin's aliases, displays no such restraint, immediately turning the nuclear fallout dial to 11. "Destroy Civilisation" drops snippets of chilling dialogue, possibly culled from public information films such as Protect And Survive, while martial synths march heavy boots over fire scorched land. In fact, the whole thing feels wind-whipped and bomb-charred - "Frozen Fire" and "Much Better Than A Human Being" don't so much suggest nuclear paranoia as grim, post-fallout dystopias.
