People defending this with technical explanations of characters and tokens. Fine, but the point is how can you trust its outputs when you need specialist knowledge to know not to ask it what appears to a lay person to be a really simple question?

Government style ad in watercolour. Image of a burglar stealing a painting from the wall of a home. Tagline: "It's not theft... if you say you're using it to train your AI algorithm". Body text: "Theft is now legal, so we can boost the economy by eliminating jobs. If that doesn't make any sense, ask a chatbot to explain it to you." HM government logo in the corner.

COMPANION was marketed as a thriller rather than a horror, but it definitely has horror moments and a big satirical element I quite enjoyed

M3GAN (the original, haven't seen the sequel) is a good shout if you've not caught it yet

(I'd also say roughly the first half of HERETIC too, but after that it gets quite dark)

This is such a funny paragraph of a BlueSky-style "well actually" in real life.

The people who are talking about this like Cain is all washed up as an actor are going to feel pretty silly when they learn that only two years ago he played "The Mayor" in R.A.D.A.R.: The Adventures of the Bionic Dog

That's nothing, I heard about an Irish department store that had literal priests wandering round the underwear department. Disgusting stuff

Oop, I tell a lie: there are some showings at the Ealing Picturehouse and from Friday it'll be on in Brixton, but that's it, which still seems odd, right?

As far as I can tell, Picturehouse aren't showing THE NAKED GUN anywhere at all this week (at least, not in London) which seems... odd. Anyone know if there are Reasons for this?

For the last time, the definition of art is β€œsomething in a museum with a tiny explanatory sign next to it.” It has to be a sign that people kinda check out for a few seconds before getting bored and wandering towards the gift shop. That is art

Thanks to this news image of climbers risking suffocation in the β€œdanger zone” queue to the summit of Everest I have finally a FOMO event marginally less appealing to me than the Oasis shows.

For students of the form, The "Best TV Ever" viral post going around this morning is an A+ example of making the original post have an obvious error (2 shows which are generally accepted to not be in the best 5 ever) to increase the interaction with it.

There are still shows with 22-ep runs, but they tend to be straight-down-the-line procedurals now (e.g. CHICAGO FIRE/MED, etc)
