My partner and I ended up buying a hard carrier for skii poles -- it was that or one for golf clubs. They make those for airport travel so we did that, then had to check it in with our airline of choice 🥲 not the easiest but better than the fabric bags they usually come with.

If you live in the US, call your fucking representatives and tell them that repealing Section 230 is a horrible idea. If Section 230 is gone, you can kiss Bluesky goodbye.

My introverted ass was never going to be built for social media. I post art, I leave. Sometimes for weeks. When I do lurk I just quietly like people's things 😔 I am not built for constant yapping and conversation.

Turnaround of Sonic Adventure 1's E102 Gamma, designed like the Gammas 1 & 2 from Dragonball Super: Super Hero. From left to right, front 3/4, side profile, and back view, with color reference bars to the most right. Below the color bars is text, E-102 "Gamma". Using the front facing 3/4 view: The design wears a red coat and white, thight-length coat. The white of the coat extends like a panel from just under the next to the bottom front of the coat. Taking 2/3rds of the upper chest, the red number 102, next to two large grey stud-shaped buttons, aligned vertically, closer to the character's right facing shoulder. Both coat shoulders are black, the right facing shoulder with the Eggman logo in gray. The rest of the sleeve is red, with two black lines on the upper arm, and a yellow v-shape cuff to mimic SA1 Gamma's forearm. He has black gloves, and wears simple black belt on top of the coat, around his waist. The buckle is round and gray with the Greek, lowercase symbol for "gamma" The pants are black, tapering town below the knee to fit under the upper part of the boot. From below the knee to the ankle, it is simlar to the coat sleeve from gray, to red with to stripes, to a yellow cuff. The heel to toe are black boots, with a bright green trapezoid shape to mimic SA1 Gamma's feet. The head is most similar to Gamma 1 & 2, though from the eyes up it resembles SA1's top, with black, and a solid yellow flat-top head that slopes from the top back of the head down towards the brow.

Recolored Gammas for the rest for Sonic Adventure 1, except Zero. Each has their own lowercase Greek letter on their belt buckle. From right to left, not including the white on the coat or gray metal parts: E101 "Beta" in black and yellow, E102 "Gamma" in red and yellow, E103 "Delta" in blue and gray with yellow accents, E104 Epsilon in yellow-orange and gray, and E105 "Zeta" in bright purple and gray with yellow accents.

Back in 2022, I got sick with Covid and spent a few days turning E102-Gamma into a Dragonball Super: Super Hero Gamma.

And recolored the rest~

A hybrid bat-cat like monster who is almost entirely jet black, save for the tip of their long tail. The character has a few small bright yellow-orange accents including: two curved back horns on their head, 3 tail spikes at the base of their tail, ribs on their torso, geometric crystal like shapes near their ears, and a diamond in the center of their which has an eye looking out. They are also wearing a matching scarf which becomes giant claw like hands at each end. The character has had several parts of their body replaced with various candy wherever they are injured instead of real gore. Slices of their tail contain gummy peach rings. Their exposed shoulder muscles connecting to their wing arms are twizzlers. There is bubble gum like sinew connecting a few parts of their thin legs and a segment of their tail. They also have gummy worm guts that are sprinkled in sour sugar.

Scroll on… A cool-looking Red-tailed Hawk that someone is wondering which subspecies it might be - right up my alley! But when you zoom in on the photos literally every feather group has been so heavily manipulated and altered by AI editing that it’s impossible to determine subspecies because the photo is essentially fake now; just a mashup of whatever AI thinks parts of a Red-tail should look like. Scroll on… WOW! That’s a remarkable trail cam photo of a Bobcat! It almost looks like a painting!… but the head looks oddly small…. hmmmm. After some prodding the original photo is produced and sure enough it had been so heavily altered by AI ‘post processing’ that the photo posted was essentially a digital mock-up with totally different proportions and fur markings. No longer the photo off the trail cam; it may as well have just been ‘created’ by AI from scratch. This stuff is killing me. My days on social media are becoming very limited. We can’t even trust simple, everyday photos of animals to be real. The wildlife community needs to quit editing with AI, and we need to start calling out photographers that are using it. Our reality is being destroyed all around us.

A quoted tweet from a user named Sam that reads: "How Twitter is rigged Type in all caps because you're excited? Lowers your reputation. Include links? Your score goes down. It's like the Credit Score system from Hell. And given Cisgender is treated as a slur & MAGA boosted, you can guess what's categorized as 'offensive'" The tweet they quoted is from user SADIQ and reads: "Tweepcred is X's reputation system Based on your behavior, you get a tweepcred score It determines your reach Break the algo rules, you score goes down and your reach disappears What are the rules of the X algo tho? Glad you asked." SADIQ includes a photo of Twitter's algorithm code that calculates a user's reputation. SADIQ continues: "Post 'offensive text'? 80% reach reduction Offensive username? 80% reach reduction All caps tweet? That's seen as 'shouting. Major penalization. Include links? Yup, penalized"

I'm begging any artists still using Twitter claiming it's integral to their work to just leave. It's been revealed the site works off a made up "credit score" from hell and punishes you for posting like a normal human being.

Abandon Twitter for good. It's time. It's been time.

Big and small, I've had single-person businesses rip me to shreds over how their colors turned out on newsprint, and have worked with huge companies with THICK brand guidelines with every detail of their brand identity laid out and enforced with an iron fist. But I guess all of that stuff doesn't matter anymore? Who gives a fuck if this Al generated baby has six fingers, that mom-and-pop shop is still going to use it. That rug from Temu says Happy Thanksgivirg? Oh well haha it's just a silly funny thing now (nevermind that you never would have given a B-grade item from a craft show the same consideration). I don't actually care that the Al Coca-cola ad has a truck that changes size every scene, but I can't help but think about how, if it had been some poor underpaid artist, they would have been laughed out of the building. I don't really know how to put it in a succint way but it just feels all the more obvious how much more grace and flexibility has always been possible but never offered.
