Well done, Rob & team! A well-written and interesting read. I'm curious about possible solutions which allow care coordinators more time for supervision. Maybe if the long term efficiency of the MOL approach becomes evident to the administrators, it gains priority?

Hi Eva, thanks! Yes, I think if there is evidence that MOL makes a difference in practice (and can be implemented flexibly in the way we think it could be), hopefully, that will build a case that time and resources should be allocated to training/supervision. Did you have any thoughts on solutions?

Due to high workloads, however, care coordinators struggled to attend Method of Levels supervision sessions, and this caused them to feel less confident about implementing the approach in practice. We need to find some way to address this issue before we move to a full evaluation trial.

Participants generally thought the approach could be a helpful way for service users to explore difficulties in more depth, enabling them to generate their own solutions to problems. Care coordinators also reported that they were able to integrate the approach into their routine practice.

The use and impact of surveillance in inpatient mental health settings
Nima Hunt blogs a systematic review which finds no real evidence that surveillance in inpatient mental health settings has positive outcomes.
New and important from @thementalelf.bsky.social: "This review has highlighted the critical lack of evidence supporting the use of surveillance technologies. #Oxevision has the potential to enable iatrogenic harm, however this is not being acknowledged". tinyurl.com/3jajvst6 #StopOxevision

Thanks! Great to get your thoughts on this. Relapse is one of those terms that gets used a lot, but seems conceptually βslipperyβ to define.

Hi Steph, great to see you on here. I had a quick question, if you donβt mind. Are you distinguishing between βrecurrenceβ and βrelapseβ? If so, how? Iβll read the paper as well, but would be interested in your take.

Hi BlueSky! My name is Steph. Iβm a post-doc in Glasgow and am just finishing up first year of a three year fellowship developing support for fears of recurrence in psychosis.
Doing a wee introduction thread about me and my research. Would love to connect with others.

Iβve been reading this by Linda Gask. Itβs a beautiful illustration of the oppression women experience in society which leads to some awful experiences in mental health careβ¦
