Orwell and his wife Eileen spent a few months living in a villa outside of Marrakech in the late 1930s. He wrote the essay "Marrakech" about daily life there, but Marrakech in the 1930s was also home to hundreds of colonial brothels...
I've looked. TV is shite tonight.
This'll be better.
A black and white night photo from my camera trap. There are small landscaping rocks on the ground and shrubs to the left, right and behind a raccoon that is lying down in the center of the frame. The raccoon is facing the camera with its mouth slightly open allowing us to see some of its teeth. Its black face mask, nose and white whiskers are visible as are its little, round raccoon ears. At this point I think this raccoon is just hamming it up for the camera as I had a lot of similar photos as it posed for its close ups with the camera. Very friend shaped.
"Paint me like one of your French girls."
At this point, I think this raccoon is just hamming it up for the camera. Seems like a fun raccoon to hang out with.

These videos have been shown to increase support for Reform, by increasing salience of migration.
He has to go.

Photograph of Dieter Helm, Professor of Economic Policy at the University of Oxford. It is accompanied by a quote which says "The one objection to nationalisation which has little merit is that it would cost the government a lot. This is nonsense."
The Government says it would cost £100bn to bring water into public hands. That figure's based on a report paid for by the water companies which Dieter Helm has called 'economically illiterate'.
Public ownership of water makes most sense.

It just happens she's the Minister for Homelessness in this, a Labour government.
Did you think that Labour represented the working class?
Yeah, so did I.
Now, they are your landlord.
The main problem was that it was relet so soon after the tenants moved out (government wants a 12 month no-let period, Lords voted for 6 months). Definitely concerns about how well it will be enforced but the basis for claiming compensation will be clearer than it currently is in Scotland

An extremely relevant idea for rural communities like Lincolnshire! 💚
Just like Zack says, youth in cities struggle with "unscrupulous landlords" while farmers struggle with "supermarkets or agricultural capital", a broken system at every corner.
