He’s not a king. That’s the point of the no kings day protests; he’s a “want to be king” who is actively destroying our democracy.

It’s a distraction, he knows that the media can cover only so many stories effectively; so he continues to control the narrative by supplying many sensational, outrageous stories. It’s a way to blind the media and conceal what he wants hidden.

Let’s be honest, the white house getting bulldozed is the perfect metaphor for our current democracies situation.

Let’s be honest, Steven Milller would never be sorry for a sick child, nor would he apologize. He would call the kid weak and lazy then threaten to have him deported regardless of citizenship.

Weird that the only thing to move him was personal loss of money; not the horrific attack on our democracy.

They should arrest people that committed crimes. Being in a gang isn’t a crime. Yes crimes are committed by people in gangs and yes some gangs are criminal organizations but the actual definition used by law enforcement is so non specific anyone can be a gang member.

It’s a sad state of affairs that our country has become what it is now. Perhaps something good will come out of these difficult times. My guess is that things will get worse before the people’s eyes are opened and we begin demanding that our government work for us.

My point was that we aren’t living in normal times. People vote for change regardless if the political promises are lies. People want change. That was really my point.

The data says laws that favor the top passed at a very high percentage and laws that don’t favor the top are not passed at very high percentage. Laws that are popular with the masses have about a 30 percent chance of passing and laws unpopular have the same 30 percent chance. Doesn’t say oligarchy

No problem. When a mind is made up there is little reason for discussion. Also isn’t that the larger problem? How ironic. Thanks for your …input. I see no need to discuss this further

True but it’s been duplicated and peer reviewed. You might try reading it. It’s straight forward and based on easy to check data.

I’m not promoting sanders, just pointing out that the Democratic Party isn’t as fair as you present. Also sanders would have likely beaten trump, but we will never know as the fair process was circumvented to favor a different candidate regardless of the people’s vote. Also I’m not a fan of Sanders

It’s not my study; it’s Princeton Universities. Sadly facts are true whether you believe them or not; whether you are aware of them or not. I am not trying to offend you. I simply see things from a different perspective.

Study: US is an oligarchy, not a democracy What in the World: A new report finds that an elite few dominate US policy, the human error behind South Korea's ferry tragedy, and Algeria's uneasy status quo election.

Well you can say that but they do vote against bills that are loaded with things they won’t vote for and the bills they write are loaded with things republicans won’t vote for. Look at the laws that pass and who they favor.

Yes, I watched school house rock. But most laws passed favor the wealthy. Our government doesn’t work for us.

They don’t care. They are consolidating power. They have succeeded in dividing the people. After this next election, if the house isn’t taken back there will be little chance for fair elections in the future.

I’m sure you believe that but both sides write bills that the other side would never pass. Biden was good because he pushed for common sense compromise and was willing to allow both sides a win. Both sides use wedge issues to prevent cooperation. Laws that do pass favors the wealthy.

We are no longer a democracy because the evidence supports the conclusion. Facts are facts. I did not create the circumstances that brought us here. Your party is the same one that unfairly pushed sanders out in favor of Clinton. They also refuse to find common ground and push wedge issues.

01.10.2025 00:40 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

Yes Biden was masterful in getting people to work together. He is a politician from a different era. Both parties must cooperate for the country to move forward. There is much that they can find common ground but refuse to compromise so they can blame each other. Both refuse to work together.

The majority of voters are uninformed but I would refrain from calling them dumb. They can tell our government isn’t working and they are voting against it. They know they want change. They are uninformed because the media is owned. Dividing people against each other. We lost our democracy.

Our system isn’t working well because two parties refuse to cooperate and do their job; working for the people. They are working for the extremely wealthy now and gridlock favors the rich. We are no longer a democracy.

Well time will tell. Currently people want change and will vote for anything that resembles change. That’s how trump got in twice and also why sanders was and is so popular. Change will be voted for regardless of what that change is until our politicians begin to cooperate or the system collapses.

I’m just pointing out that our system is currently not working very well. Politicians have always lied but people were less gullible than they are today.
