I say, hey, it’s “meal-O-clock” somewhere! 😀🐶

Perfectly penned. All of it truth, to this I. Thank you for the heartlift!

By that logic, France would still be a German territory, along with the Netherlands and Norway.
Sorry guys, “Concessions have to be made.”
Sure wasn’t the mindset around Vietnam, was it? The U.S. policymakers would’ve saved a lot of lives with this paradigm back in the 60’s-70’s.
COMPLETELY correct guidance. Democrat leadership should do exactly like this.
We must claim the future of our country by describing now how it will be. What a brilliant blueprint from Josh Marshall at Talking Points Memo.

In her last years, my mom often expounded on the topic of inter-species communication and its profound possibilities. There it is, in nascent form. 💛
So true! I lived in Germany with my German-born wife from Feb. 2023-April 2025. Mostly there, day-to-day, it felt like a civil society, a place of caring/conscientiousness. This Heinlein quote describes exactly what I noticed when I resumed living in US this year. Great post! Thank you.
26.07.2025 22:19 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Amidst all the pure idiocy and its resulting angst and anguish, I have to ask—What the hell is up with all the invented capitalization in this letter (and elsewhere)?? It is just such a totally weird, ridiculous, and idiotic thing to do. Anyone else think so?

12.05.2025 16:08 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I agree. I think the media problem has to do with its payment model. That drives the sensationalist, “OMG! What now!” consumption pattern. Independent, subscriber-based, (and dare I say fact-based) journalism sidesteps that pitfall.

Focusing primarily on Trump is like keeping the stove burner on as the pot boils over. Minimizing focus on Trump is a solid strategy. The Trump-centric mythos is especially nurtured by main media—CNN, etc. Count how many times “Trump” appears in headlines on front pages.
“Press, out!” She sounds like someone talking to her dogs, not to other human beings (and skilled professionals, at that). What a cruel regime. 😢
18.04.2025 19:19 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I think it’s a “crabs in the slowly increasing water temperature” situation. But some of us crabs understand “stoves” and “burners” and “cook pots” better than the rest. So not much interest in wider society. Plus the saga of a democracy’s death is not a news-cycle narrative. Not profitable.

Neil Stephenson‘s book “Fall“, posits “Ameristan”, a sort of broken up, disassociated version of the U.S. It was the first well-described version of that possible future I had encountered. Now it is closer.

28.03.2025 07:31 — 👍 16 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It is infuriating on its face and 10 times more so because they always defame and slander anyone and anything they chose.
