Got it. That’s your jam. Maybe smooshing vine charcoal is healthier than most of the other synthetic drawing materials. Heck, it’s probably organic. It’s not like lead white oil paint. 😊

When I used it in the past, it felt like I was covered in it & so was my paper🤣🤣

Try compressed charcoal. It doesn’t get sloppy, or chip & conti crayon for dark blacks. If you like pencil marks & get a chance to go to a Home Center Store or Hardware they have wide carpenters pencils. Very inexpensive, thicker line. Sharpen with utility knife or razor blade. Cost $$ at art store

I don’t know 100% for sure (what came before what), but I think the multiple partners were culturally acceptable & happened before Fela was a star. Fela did what the Chiefs & miners were doing only he over indulged.

The thing is Fela became synonymous for what not to do to protect yourself from AIDS and that changed the culture & saved lives. A generation of ppl are alive bc of his superstar recognition.
