I like that a lot narratively. Fighting will turn into a shit show and even if you survive the PvP you’re gonna have to deal with UESC when you’re in a weakened state because you chose to go loud

like Tarkov is the "hardcore" extraction shooter and it is WAY less hostile than Marathon is so far

I genuinely think a huge reason why Arc took off is because the vibe is TENSION when you run into other crews. That tension is fun. Will we work together? Will we extract together? Will we backstab at the very end? It's a really cool dynamic and it exists here if the gamers stop ignoring it

I just think that the "uneasy alliance" aspect of extraction shooters is part of what makes them incredibly unique. You have different play options. If the community completely rejects that, it just ends up being SUPER sweaty. Which some people love! But it ain't me

I posted in the Marathon discord about how the game is super cool but every team attacks on sight and it would be cool if some contracts incentive cooperation the same way some incentivize PvP and just got hit with a hilarious amount of "GET GOOD" "THIS GAME IS ABOUT PVP"

Marathon rules but the player community obviously only considers it a PVP game and that is gonna hurt the game imo
