My heart sank when my 14 year old asked me to help him analyse poetry. I struggled with English lit when I was at school. Helping a neurodivergent child try to tackle this is so hard. Poetry and ASD is a very challenging expectation. Why do all children have to study this?

It's Friday. I've been battling a grotty cold, we had governors in visiting, wet lunchtime and the Internet went down at lunchtime! Very glad to have a weekend of relaxation ahead and a very positive looking week next week!

Have you considered talking to ex heads who are now in the classroom? There are lots of us!!

Lots of transitions. I also don't track but do share my location with teens. They use it when I am rescuing them to see where I am! No suggestions about managing the stress. When they go to uni, I never know where they are which is less stressful I find.

Reading The Long Game by @pnjfoster.bsky.social and very much enjoying the structure of the book: listing problems and solutions so that I can choose where to begin. A very similar approach to selecting a specific goal in #coaching.
