I strongly oppose the recent Supreme Court ruling, which attempts to define 'sex' on the basis of biology in a deliberate attempt to discriminate against an already marginalised group. To quote the British Medical Association's Junior Doctors wing, this ruling is 'scientifically illiterate' and 'biologically nonsensical'.
Whilst I do not offer a physical delivery space, it is important to note that the so-called 'bathroom ban' is just the beginning of a targeted campaign to strip trans* people of their rights and the ability to exist and engage in public life.

To reiterate a previous point: The Sheffield Autism Partnership Network is committed to intersectional practice, and there is no disabled liberation without liberation from all forms of oppression. This includes transphobia and all forms of bigotry targeting the LGBTQ+ community.
The network has a zero-tolerance policy for transphobia and for any attempts to define a person based on their physical attributes or behaviour instead of their self-determination.

To all trans* people, whether Autistic or not, you have my full support to live in whatever gender identity or expression feels most comfortable. You know who you are better than anyone else ever could.

'waiting for an autism assessment?'
'feeling like you need some extra support?'
'SAANS and SAPN have teamed up with 6 local voluntary organisations to improve access to wellbeing and practical support for people on the Autism assessment waiting list.'
'these organisations are:
autism plus, darnall well being, firvale community hub, percy street CIC, SACMHA, sheffield voices at disability sheffield'
'these organisations have loads of experience in providing support to people across a variety of communities in Sheffield, as well as a shared commitment to making their services accessible and friendly for Autistic people and people experiencing challenges that are associated with being Autistic.' Last year, we ran a project encouraging people waiting for an assessment to connect with the voluntary sector - next week, we're holding an event to look at what we can learn from it, and how this impacts the sector.

If you'd like to join us, please email admin@sapn.org.uk to find out more! #Autism

I've noticed a lot of focus on telling ND people to unmask, as though it's an active choice we can make, rather than telling NT people how to become a safe place for people to unmask around...

A white background with black text, reading 'Are you an autistic adult living in Sheffield?' 'Take part in this survey about your experiences using public transport in the city' 'Find more details in the description :)'

Next to the title is a line drawing graphic of a bus, tram and train. At the bottom of the page is a series of multi-coloured silhouettes of people, with different graphics like numbers, gears, puzzles in their brain spaces.
