As a disabled child I felt valued. As an adult I embraced disability justice.
But after a recent care review Iโve felt like a burden to loved ones, my employer and even my paid personal assistants.
A state process leaving someone like me feeling this, is exactly why this narrative is dangerous.
Graphic for the March for Global Climate Justice, with logos of supporting organisations around text showing the name of the March. At the bottom text reads โ12pm, 16th November, Great Russell Street, Londonโ
Sad I canโt be there but proud that @friends-earth.bsky.social are joining the #MarchforGlobalClimateJustice today โ against fossil fuels, for climate reparations and in solidarity with Palestine. Thank you to everybody taking part and calling for the climate justice so urgently needed globally.

Seconded. Online to offline organising can be a powerful force for change making. Also online activist spaces are important for people who face barriers to IRL activism, like disabled people, some parents, people in rural areas etc.

Iโd booked an accessible Malmaison hotel in Leeds, only to find it doesnโt mean wheelchair accessible?! They can give me a refund but as Iโll be booking another hotel at late notice, Iโd need to cover the extra ยฃ100s myself. Anyone know if this right under Equality Act? Canโt recall as so stressed.

Having experienced the loss of the high court case on the climate adaptation case on Friday and feeling distraught at the continued genocide in Palestine, Iโm finding it hard to stay hopeful.
Lessons of liberation from history, help me regain hope.
Any favourites to share?
Photo for cat tax.
You are so great on this Rosie. I really like your presenting style.
25.10.2024 19:53 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0To say Iโm devastated is an understatement.
But I do know change is never linear, & itโs a diversity of tactics plus people power that wins.
Which we have in droves, with climate, disability and housing activists united for the first time.
Now to blow off steam at wheelchair rugby training.

Ok one more whilst I canโt sleep. I did at least post something vaguely social change related too.

I wonder if thereโs a language with a word to describe the mix of feelings when a high court judgment, on a case youโve been working on for over a year, that peopleโs lives depend on, is being handed down in less than 12 hours?
On thatโฆClimate Adaptation Plan Judgment is released Fri at 10am.
See you there?

Thanks for the likes and follows. Who knew that the Venn diagram of people that like cats and social change geekery was a circle (yes, we all did).
Hereโs another photo of my cat, which means I must start using this for social change chats soon.
Ahhh the algorithm is strong on here I see. I posted one photo of my cat and I get to see your adorable gattis!

Oh hi, Iโm new here, who should I follow?
So far Iโve followed Friends of the Earth folk, who made the switch from the bad place.
Iโm a fan of climate, disability and class justice; and Iโll mainly be posting ponderings or questions about social change.
And photos of my cat, I guess.
