Number 2 seems to be the most important one, and it seems like everyone forgets to look at the sources! They forget especially that the generated text is NOT an "authored" text.

RFK Jr. ordered the NIH’s Integrated Research Facility in Frederick to stop all research on serious infectious diseases yesterday at 5:00 PM.

They study pathogens like Ebola there. You may be familiar with it from The Hot Zone.

EBM is a great idea in theory, but as has been noted: "theory and practice are the same in theory, but in practice they're different".

For anyone attending #MLAnet25 who's also antsy about scheduling, I just downloaded the conference app PheedLoop Go! and it seems complete. I was able to log in with the email I registered with and it shows me the full schedule.

Also, tell me about your presentations/posters!

I’m hearing that some #medlibs will be unable to attend #MLAnet25 due to travel & funding freezes. And now we learn that the McGovern Lecture is cancelled, plus the PubMed/NLM updates. WOW.
But MLA has announced more travel grants of $1000. Deadline is 4/10 so if you need that assistance, go for it.

we just lost all 7 of our Network of National Library of Medicine, Region 5 (NNLM) library workers.

the grant that covered their salaries was terminated.

this is heartbreaking and demoralizing.

My OG #medlibs home.

I was their 1st intern in 2007.

Their Fed grant saved my new hire hide from State-funded budget line FTE layoffs in UW Libraries in 2009.

I've never forgotten that I should have gone as so many brilliant Asst Libs did then.

I am gutted and very, VERY angry.

Rethinking Systematic Review Assignment Design in Graduate Health Science Education from Librarians' Perspectives | Hypothesis: Research Journal for Health Information Professionals

Hot off the presses. It was an absolute pleasure to put this together with @liblaura.bsky.social!

Takeaways:

1. Don't assign systematic/scoping reviews to your students!
2. Don't ask your university librarian to support this terrible idea!
