Another year, another @tosoarch.bsky.social BASH! So much fun to catch up with people in such a gorgeous venue. Limberlost Place by @moriyamateshima.bsky.social and Acton Ostry was the perfect place to set off and explore when I needed a break.

Last night I hosted a special trivia night for the Architecture and Design Film Festival Toronto exploring brutalist architecture in filmβ€”perhaps one of the most unique events I've gotten to do! So much fun (and so much concrete!)

Amazing talk. These cities see procurement as an opportunity: to educate the public about design; to incubate young design firms; to choose from ideas presented on a level playing field. It's a must watch for any municipality--or heck, any client that procures architecture.

View from the Toronto Society of Architects (@tosoarch.bsky.social) boat tour.

A really wonderful way to spend the morning, learning about the skyline, the islands, and the Port Lands.

Incredible @tosoarch.bsky.social tour @utoronto.ca of two new landscapes: Ziibiing, & the transformation of King's College Circle. They're interrelated, & share themes, but come from deeply different approaches.

Thank you designers/tour guides:
KPMB + MVVA (UofT campus)
Brook McIlroy (Ziibiing)

Scarborough Civic Centre, Scarborough 1973, Raymond Moriyama Architect.

An architectural and graphic design gem that has been (for the most part) very well preserved. The civic centre still features the old City of Scarborough logo, as well as the departmental supergraphics.
