Statement on Alloa Campus β‘οΈ
04.09.2025 14:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Scottish Government is now consulting on how we can improve prescribing and support for chronic pain from 2026 to 2029. If you have experience of this - personally or as a carer - Iβd encourage you to take part and share your views.

Iβve been contacted many times over the years by constituents living with chronic pain. Itβs a longstanding issue that affects people across Clackmannanshire and Stirling, and I know how hard it can be to access the right care and support.
04.09.2025 12:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If you, a neighbour, friend or relative could benefit from a free call-blocking device, email:
tradingstandards@stirling.gov.uk
Numbers are limited, so please act quickly if this could help.
Free nuisance call blockers are now available for vulnerable residents across Clackmannanshire and Stirling.
I welcome this announcement β these devices will help protect people from nuisance calls and phone scams. Itβs an issue Iβve campaigned on, so Iβm pleased to see action being taken locally.

Proud to lodge a motion in the Scottish Parliament recognising Menstrieβs unique place in the story of ScotlandβCanada relations, from Sir William Alexanderβs legacy to the continuing cultural connections celebrated today.
Illegal off-road bike use is putting lives at risk, damaging green spaces and causing serious disruption in our communities.

Around 90,000 unpaid carers across Scotland β including many in Clackmannanshire & Dunblane β will receive an extra Β£293.50 this month through the SNP Governmentβs Carerβs Allowance Supplement. Payments made 18β19 June to those eligible as of 14 April.
10.06.2025 13:05 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0Since 2007 Iβve campaigned for Scotland matches to be granted Crown Jewel status - so theyβre protected for free-to-air broadcast. That campaign continues.

Is the BBC still delivering for Scotland?
At Holyrood's CEEAC Committee, I raised serious concerns over their βappallingβ coverage of the Scotland v Greece match - no commentary, delayed start, poor production. Our national games deserve better.
The removal of stops in Menstrie and Clackmannan will make it harder β and in some cases impossible β for older or disabled residents to attend appointments.
Iβve called for an urgent review to ensure communities arenβt left behind.
Iβve written to McGillβs Buses, NHS Forth Valley, and the Traffic Commissioner to raise serious concerns over cuts to the H1 and H2 bus services affecting access to Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
Many constituents rely on these routes to reach vital care.
In contrast, the SNP Government has protected universal winter heating payments in Scotland.
Pensioners in Clackmannanshire & Dunblane can be assured theyβll continue receiving support β regardless of Westminster uncertainty.
Labourβs winter heating U-turn raises more questions than answers.
They stripped support from pensioners, now say theyβll βreconsiderβ β but thereβs no start date, no detail, and no clarity from Downing Street.
Great to meet with Matty from Sheep in Wolfβs Clothing β a Dunblane-based brewery with a strong social mission. They create inclusive employment for physically & neurologically diverse people and offer a welcoming, dog-friendly space.

898 meters remain in Clackmannanshire and over 2,100 across Stirling Council.
Replacement is free β residents should contact their energy supplier now.
Iβve called for a delay or full compensation, but action is needed now.
RTS electricity meters will be switched off across the UK on 30 June.
If not replaced, households risk higher bills and disruption to heating and hot water.
Hundreds across Clackmannanshire & Dunblane still use these meters.
In Clackmannanshire, carers have received Β£1,077,145 through 145 successful applications. Also, in the Stirling Council area carers have received Β£1,140,980 through 180 applications.
15.05.2025 11:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm proud to welcome the impact of the SNP Governmentβs Carer Support Payment across Clackmannanshire & Dunblane.
Well over Β£1 million has been delivered to support carers in our constituency β recognising the vital role they play in our communities.
Scotland needs at least 400 more foster carers.
Foster carers in Clackmannanshire & Dunblane help young people thrive β no special qualifications needed, just compassion.

Since April, more unpaid carers in Clackmannanshire & Dunblane have become eligible for vital financial support. Carer Support Payment earnings limit raised to Β£196 p/w - a welcome increase based on carer feedback. This means carers can earn more from work without losing out on support.
