Loved The Mayfair, you could get late trains back home then, I was often the only person getting off the train in Carlisle at 2am in the morning.

Brilliant. The Mayfair was memorable, gig got stopped shortly after starting, as the PA was heading into the out of control crowd. One of the few gigs where I thought ‘shit, I’m in a bit of bother here’ 😂 but I hung on in and managed to come out unscathed.

Missed this one Mike, did you go to the Mayfair gig two years later?

Probably this one. The summer of ‘77 in Carlisle. The bikers didn’t like the punk band Skidmarx (who btw, included Trevor Leighton, international renowned photographer) so they drove their motorbikes through the crowd and smashed the place up. Then we all went home for tea.

Returning to Carlisle in September.
