Unter ihnen ist auch der 30-jährige Êzîde, Badi Juki S.*, aus der Region Shingal, in der sich 2014 der Genozid an den Jesiden durch den IS ereignete. Der Flüchtlingsrat fordert, die Abschiebung abzubrechen. Die Êzîdische Akademie ruft für heute, den 14. Februar, zu einer Demonstration gegen Abschiebungen in den Irak und für ein Aufenthaltsrecht für Êzîd*innen um 12 Uhr in Hannover auf. Der Flüchtlingsrat Niedersachsen unterstützt den Protest gegen die geplante Charterabschiebung aus Hannover in den Irak. Nach Ansicht der Organisation sind Abschiebungen in den Irak grundsätzlich problematisch: „Die Sicherheitslage in Gesamt-Irak bleibt volatil. Die Zahl der terroristischen Anschläge vor allem in Nord- und Zentralirak ist seit Langem sehr hoch“, stellt das Auswärtige Amt fest. Seit der Zerschlagung des IS ist das Land politisch, konfessionell und territorial tief gespalten. Die befreiten Gebiete liegen in Trümmern. Die Verwaltung funktioniert nur rudimentär, die Wirtschaft liegt am Boden, viele Menschen sind arbeitslos und kämpfen um ihr Überleben. Besonders betroffen sind jedoch die durch den Genozid vor 10 Jahren vertriebenen Êzîd*innen.

Federal Insurance Office, part of the US Treasury, has also left the NGFS. Their statement is more acerbic in its wording compared to the Fed's, mentioning how the NGFS' roles are different than other int'l technical intitiatives (it isn't!) and their work on monetary policy is transgressing.
