This is absolutely a season to just observe and not react to every poor result (feels like there will be a few of them).
Iβd back the manager, recruiters and majority of players to come good eventually but meanwhile itβs no bad thing to mentally retreat slightly from it.
I was so invested last yr!

there's a moment in PARADISE LOST where Satan arrives in Eden and realizes Hell isn't a place; it's a thing he carries within him and it'll follow him wherever he goes. and i think about that when i see these awful rich men whose monstrous wealth has enriched them not at all

Looks a decent run on paper but they will all do the long ball thing which weβve struggled to handle.
Forest is huge really. If we fail to win that then morale gets even lower.
Hope not - and he has a couple weeks to come up with *something*.

Guessing the folks who soiled their nappies over the Palace selection are quiet on the other app tonight eh.
Slotβs very good at shutting out the noise I reckon. Heβll know the issues and sort them over the season. Might not be enough to retain league but we will come good.

Probably of benefit to have 3 home games in a row even if theyβre tough. No travel, just get down to brass tacks on your home turf, get some fight back in you, and give the crowd something to get behind (like donβt concede in first 15!!).
Little bit of luck would be welcome too.

Get to the next intl break and after that our fixtures become much kinder.
Can play ourselves into some form and hopefully then build towards April/May with a possible interest in winning 2 cup comps (leagueβs done for us imo but still think we got a shot at CL. Maybe Iβm deluded!)

Buying great players and building a great team arenβt the same thing. We should have known this from countless cautionary tales across the league.
Should be serious questions asked of those allocating resources last summer because even the players missing today donβt really solve our problems.

Feels like during the summer he seemed very influenced by the PSG games if/when he discussed business and the future direction of the team.
I might be mis-remembering, and thereβs nothing wrong with that in and of itself butβ¦ maybe he has mis-guided himself here. Not much wrong with us last season!

He and all others in charge should be seriously questioned for the allocation of resources in summer.
Whether that amounts to being sacked or even people considering it, Iβm not sure.

I think a lot (including myself) just blindly assumed the big outlay on quality players would result in something better than this. Frankly, performance wise, it should have.
Manager going through a rough patch along with some players but my goodness heβs earned the right to figure it out.

He certainly shouldβve done *something* cos it felt like a powder keg when he accepted that invite based on revenge, but it ended up a very feeble exit.
He seemed like a rabbit in headlights at the end and couldnβt fight back - I was gutted as well π

Gary Neville sack decision made by Sky Sports after 'deluded' rant
Gary Neville has angered some middle-aged white men...but what do Sky Sports think of it all?
Gary Neville has picked the wrong kind of free speech. His βdeludedβ rant and βmost dangerous lapse into self-parodyβ has prompted a Sky Sports sack call.
The MailOnline really does need to be careful about calling this a βracistβ outburst, by the way...

If the like for like DJ replacement isnβt Isak and he starts for them against us, Iβm saying we draw that one.
Also Iβll say we draw Arsenal and get four points from Palace/Chelsea.
So itβs still 15 total but in a different order.
We also get a better result vs Galatasaray though IMO.

Whenever I see conditionality attached to two winning options , i become convinced we will lose or draw.
Any win is precious and shouldnβt ever be taken for granted. Itβs a decent team weβre playing.

This. BBC bias isn't (just) about how it covers stories, but about the choice of what it covers: what if it gave blanket coverage to (eg) polluted rivers, CEO pay, underfunded public services instead of to migrants?
