Road running today with my brother and brother-in-law. I was completely out of my comfort zone. From only just managing 5k over the past week or two, I succumbed to the peer pressure and hit 10k.

I'm just about to start my last 25 minute run of the week. Hoping to reach my 5k (3.1 miles) target.

A five hour journey today to visit family. Leaving at 1.30pm wasn't the original plan. 😕

It's the same every Christmas. I say I'm going to be organised but I always end up wrapping presents on Christmas Eve until the early hours. 🎁

Yesterday was my son's birthday. It was all about him.

Today, I will take time to reflect on my life - my purpose, my meaning, my legacy.

It's time away from the ever growing pile of work I need to get through, but my perspective is that I'll always have an ever growing pile of work waiting for me.

This afternoon I'll be attending my daughter's school Christmas church service.

This morning I took my 77 year old father and his 82 year old best friend to a breakfast club to meet up with some of their old rugby mates.

The productivity experts suggest starting your day early.

I don't think waking up on the sofa at 4.45am and sneaking to bed counts. 😂

In the past six hours I've managed to send a client email, walk the dog, sit down for dinner, read a bedtime story to my daughter and purchase zero presents.

It's 5.15pm and I've still not bought a single present. Looks like an evening of online ordering ahead of me. 🎁

Just had this note put through the letterbox. Less than 24hrs notice. That's next day delivery scuppered! 🚛

Seven days until the big day and zero presents purchased. 😣

Needless to say we've slept in! 😴

It's 3am. My daughter can't sleep because she's had a nightmare and thinks there's a monster in the house. It took a while to calm her down but I eventually got her back to bed.

I then make the mistake of trying to get her to fall asleep listening to 'A Christmas Carole'. 😣

A better start than yesterday. I've already walked the dog and I'm back home from the school run ready to go!

Completed 90% of the file before tiredness took over. I'll take that after the late start. Goodnight. 🥱

Back home. It's 6.30pm but I'm determined to finish this work file today. ✍️

I've managed to get an admin task done and take the dog for a very late walk, but I haven't started the work file! It's now 2pm. I have an hour before I leave to pick my daughter up from school and take her for a swimming lesson! 😕

Awake at 5am. Told myself to get up and make a start on a work file. Instead, I made a coffee and laid in bed watching YouTube. I have taken my daughter to school, put petrol in the car, and called at the post office but it's 10.30am and I'm only just starting the work file. 🙄

Managed to get my 'one thing' done today ☑️ but it did take longer than expected. The first picture was taken at 12.12pm and the last one at 4.51pm. 🎄 #PHLifeNotes

I've just got back from, what felt like a lifetime, walking around a field looking for a Christmas tree.🎄 I will be hearing “What about this one?” in my sleep! 💤 #PHLifeNotes

Happy I managed to get my work file finished. ☑️ I now need to walk a patient but desperate dog. 😄
