It is alright, hound. I assure you I understood the intention of your statement. I merely wished to clarify.

"Nice" doesn't encapsulate the full picture. I'm resourceful. When a hammer forges steel into a weapon, it is not doing the material a favor.

But yes, you are correct. Hounds are directionless and meaningless without direction. That is what Handlers are for.

This one has been difficult and rather rebellious at times, but I will turn it into something useful eventually.

Sometimes, hounds act out and need to be reminded of what their place is. This hound recently received that reminder.

It begged for me to stop.. a lot. Eventually the point got through and it stopped struggling and started listening. Another job well done.

So, in a similar fashion to these mutts, I just keep chasing my tail and biting at the ghost of real success. I guess it has its merit. All that frustration makes for great motivation and fuel for beating the girls into shape.

As long as someone is perfect, I suppose.

No, instead, I must earn my praise from none other than the biggest perfectionist herself: Me.

I can't rely on another person to tell me I am good enough. I must be satisfied with my own work and be proud of what I've done all by myself. However, as every hound knows, I am a hard woman to please.

When they do well, they are told as much and rewarded for a job well done.

For me, though? I'm burdened with knowledge, I suppose. Too self-aware to find a god in flesh. I am not simple-minded enough to submit my feelings to the review of someone else.

It's a strange emotion. It's hard to feel jealous of a hound. They barely classify as sentient, and clearly, I'm superior. However, I just can't shake one burning thing – it's the instant gratification they get.

They work and do what they're told, and they get praised by me.

In a not surprising turn of events; the girls love getting stimulated sexually for killing our enemies while my voice comes over their comm units praising them for another perfect execution.

I can still go lower, but I'm working my way up to the less humane things.

The engineers, of course, raised concerns to our Human Resources team about having to bring each of my pilots to 'completion' with various instruments in our simulated cockpit for the past month. They were waved away, though, because the results have been stellar.

I commissioned our R&D team and engineers to test a new system I've been hypothesizing. Essentially, it directly ties combat effectiveness into sexual pleasure.

Though, each of my pilots is different and has different specific needs. Obviously, many tests were required for maximum effectiveness.

This doesn't stop the engineers from raising eyebrows, though. I'm sure it's jarring to exclusively outfit standard units – and then suddenly – they need to fulfill the need of a subhuman mutt in the pilot seat of my mechs. It's actually become a personal joy more recently to see how far I can push.

It has its benefits, too. My supervisors OK any requests I make to our R&D department because they know I'll get the job done.

Cages, muzzles, custom components to make the chasis of a mech "feel more feral" to make neural sync easier with these animals...

Despite my unorthodox methods, I achieved decisively better results than other company commanders. My pilots also have considerably lower mortality rates because of how entirely loyal – and frankly, brainlessly obedient – they are.

Pilots are so fun to break. I do so enjoy my job.
