something I've seen a lot in these animations is that a lot of the movements happen seem incredibly pose to pose, forgoing things like offsetting the different limbs. Was this to closer match the vibe of old sprite animations, or to reflect these character's robotic nature, or both?

ok so, this art is incredibly cool! the details are amazing, and the reflective appearance of the scales are super convincing. Also though of course it makes sense, its super cool to see details like the scales being moved apart, revealing the skin underneath!

Idk, what’s the context? I’d argue that there’s no such thing as “sophisticated animation”, and trying to label some forms of animation as sophisticated and others as not puts up walls and borders that do not exist.

While they are generally less educated than the average urban democrat, because of a complex web of social-economic issues, I disagree with the notion that they support trump just because they're idiots.
