Shane is turned to face Jas, who is kneeled down to tie her own shoes. Shane can see her struggling, and sheepishly asks her "hey kiddo, y'need some help tying' your--" Jas interrupts with a loud "HMPH!", stopping Shane mid-sentence. Her expression is exaggeratedly angry and frustrated, her cheeks puffed up with air. It's clear she doesn't want his help and wants to do it on her own. Shane, seeing this, quietly replies to her protest with a "okay, damn"

Jas is standing, body tense and a very serious expression on her face while waiting for her turn to get her picture taken. Both of her tiny fists are balled into fists. Shane is speaking off screen saying "Jas, you're gonna give yourself a headache." Next to Jas is some text, "she's taking this very seriously" with an arrow pointing towards her.

Extra doodles! I think Jas is a kid with VERY big feelings and Shane would look like he was calm outwardly when inside he was also taking picture day very seriously...

A slightly younger Jas from Stardew Valley is looking at the viewer (Shane's POV) slightly leaning over to tie her yellow and pink sneakers, laces tangled in her fingers. The look on her face is as if you broke her out of a deep concentration after grabbing her attention.

Shane with a sleeping Jas up on his shoulders after an emotionally exhausting picture day. Shane is looking up at her, Jas' head slumped on top of his. She's deeply asleep, mouth open and a small dribble of drool.

I wanted to practice drawing children for Stardew Valley reasons and couldn't get the idea of Shane taking Jas to her very first school picture day 🩷

Ahhhh I'm happy the inspo came through! I love how Ghibli films illustrated children and Totoro was very important to me growing up.
