On my morning run today, I was too early to check out the amazing new Christian to Crescent bike and pedestrian connector, which opens today. Thanks Schuylkill River Development Corp for this dazzling contribution to Center City’s livability.

Deep reading is an absolute joyβ€”good for mind and spirit. Also, a competitive advantage for knowledge workers.

-Hardcopy book
-No digital devices nearby
-Pen for underlining, jotting down thoughts
-Notebook to collect ideas that pop into mind
-At least 30 min

Like a muscle.

Unpopular opinion: I know it's cool to wear your earbuds and carry a book while pasting a disinterested, don't-talk-to-me expression on your face, but I like to talk to the person sitting beside me on airplanes. I liked it when we were willing to be inconvenienced by strangers.

Central Paris bike-lane filled with people riding bikes.

Central Paris bike-lane filled with people riding bikes.

Remember, Paris wasn’t β€œalways this way.”

Not that many years ago, Paris was choking in car traffic. And it wasn’t a safe place to ride a bike for transportation, so not many people tried.

This is new. This is a result of deliberate vision, and bold leadership.

Cities are a result of choices.

Without a robust public transit system, Philadelphia just doesn’t work | Opinion Absent additional funding from the state, the proposed cuts to SEPTA service would be devastating to the region's post-pandemic recovery.

Our compact, walkable downtown can only exist because transit allows visitors, residents, and employees to be concentrated in a small geographic footprint that would be physically impossible to serve with private vehicles alone.

KURT VONNEGUT: Oh, she says well, you're not a poor man. You know, why don't you go online and buy a hundred envelopes and put them in the closet? And so I pretend not to hear her. And go out to get an envelope because I'm going to have a hell of a good time in the process of buying one envelope.

I meet a lot of people. And, see some great looking babes. And a fire engine goes by. And I give them the thumbs up. And, and ask a woman what kind of dog that is. And, and I don't know…

And, of course, the computers will do us out of that. And, what the computer people don't realize, or they don't care, is we're dancing animals. You know, we love to move around. And, we're not supposed to dance at all anymore.
