hell yeah I really like all three of these records. I'm fiending for more prog rock that overlaps with corny synths and AOR slickness for sure

that makes a lot of sense. its interesting to see mine decreasing over the years when i'm trying harder to keep up with new stuff. but I guess circa-2013 I was newly single and working longer hours in an office job so that checks out as the peak lol

if it's grey or rainy where you are, no better time to press play on Pinebender's The High Price of Living Too Long on a Single Dream.

RIYL: Slowcore, walls of distortion, Karate, 764-Hero, etc. Described by someone as "The Promise Ring covering Jesu".

Hiring an inexperienced European to helm a crucial sequel in the middle of a legacy series is a beautiful thing I guess- Dwight Little tried so hard to match the original (impossible task) and his movie (part 4) drags hard in long sections- Othenin-Girard seemingly had no respect for the franchise, but a ton of European art movie style- aesthetically, down to the poster (best of the series), this is easily the most visually exciting entry after the first- its essentially a Cinema du look slasher- the characters are also more fun- Loomis’ hinges are full off here and Tina is excellent, one of the finest characters of not only the series, but the genre in general- ranks favorably to Rachel in Childs Play 2 for me- this movie is definitely goofy as hell in parts but then it suddenly becomes great (laundry shoot, woods chase, every scene with Tina)- it is never boring and always great to look at- third or fourth best Halloween

everyone always says Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers is the underrated sequel because of its potent Falloween vibes but it's time we all admit the "we have no idea what we are doing here" slasher sequel plot of Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers makes it the actual underrated one
