Given recent news coverage of incredibly successful crowdfunding campaigns for the ICE shooter and the auto worker who yelled at Trump yesterday, seems like a good time to reup my research on this topic. Linking your fundraiser to politicized topics is a great strategy for juicing donations.

And, finally, has faced accusations of grifting around these fundraisers, including skimming some funds by a Nick Fuentes fan account.

He has a history of creating/supporting right leaning/extremist fundraisers of GiveSendGo.

The organizer's X page is full of White nationalist and antisemitic posts, however.

In the most recent version of this fundraiser, the campaign has exceeded the original $200k goal, increased the goal to $300k, and removed the reference to Frey being Jewish.

No problem. I've reported explicitly neo Nazi campaigns to them in the past and they've refused to cancel them.

I don't think it is - they have a history of embracing these kinds of fundraiser.

Interestingly the campaign creator seems to be trying to dodge this concern by revising the campaign to state vaguely that "Funds will go to help him." The creator doesn't seem to have a clear connection to the ICE agent, wild that it has raised nearly half a million.

I agree that there are grounds to report this fundraiser but GiveSendGo will absolutely not cancel it. They are actively using the potential for cancelation on GoFundMe to market this fundraiser and supporting fundraisers for right wing figures accused of violence is their brand (e.g., Rittenhouse).

What's the violation? For context, they are using this as an opportunity to brand themselves in contrast to @gofundme.com as not canceling fundraisers like this.

@givesendgo.bsky.social is promoting an alternative fundraiser that is now at over $170k. The latter is going straight in for casual antisemitism: "it's the direct result of anti-American traitors like Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (who is Jewish) fanning the flames of resistance."

Stateless at Birth — Birthright Citizenship and the Safeguarding of Immigrant Maternal and Child Health Rachel E. Fabi, PhD Patricia Mae G. Santos, MD, MS Benjamin D. Sommers, MD, PhD ABSTRACT This perspective discusses the public health implications of the recent executive order (EO), and subsequent court challenges, regarding the termination of birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution. The EO threatens to undermine the justification that undergirds many state and federal policies regarding access to maternal healthcare for immigrants: the expectation that babies born in the USA will become US citizens. In so doing, the EO creates conditions under which many children born in the USA may be rendered stateless and thus ineligible for public benefits.
