Spending the afternoon catching up on the last few months of Edge magazines.
This is nice π
@joe.inkle.co I just read the Feb 2025 issue of Edge and I love your suggestion in the Saving The Games Industry article.
I would love to see GDC take inspiration from academia and take place in a new location every year.
This is the best news! So happy the petition and everything else helped to secure the PCC.

We are excited to tell everyone that Westminster Council decided on May 1st that the Prince Charles Cinema would be included in the list of Assets of Community Value maintained by the Council under section 87 of the Localism Act 2011.

Everybody's favourite new Mario Kart character - Cow!
So there are food powerups in the new Mario Kart World.
What if you eat a hamburger while racing as Cow?

Maybe it's because I grew up in the 80s/90s but I have zero issue with Nintendo's pricing.
I was paying Β£30-40 for gigs back in the early 2000's but Β£35-50 for a game.
Now gigs are Β£180-300 while games are only now reaching that Β£60-75 bracket.
I'm surprised we've had it so good for so long tbh.

Vibe coding makes you as much a programmer as that time I installed a no-solder drop-in LCD replacement into a Game Boy Advance turned me into an electrical engineer.
I got the job done (on the shoulders of experts) but I have zero clue how it actually works. Thankfully nothing went wrong.
A month ago Google search kept showing a ton of ads (often more ads than results).
It led me down a hole.
Switched to @kagi.com and will never look back.
Switched to Microsoft Launcher on my Pixel to use Kagi as quick search widget.
Edge as main browser.
Google pushed me past a tipping point π²

"Chasing Light Mode"
And my favourite "Defrag My Life Away!"
I'd recommend taking the opportunity to move it over to a standalone password manager like Bitwarden or 1Password.

I've just started with Rust myself as a hobby language.
I found the ownership concept around variables and scope to be new enough compared to all other languages I have used before that the learning always felt fresh.
