Wow, well written. A powerful and incredible explanation of what happens when people stand up for - their right to live.

To stamp out corruption, murders, and the silencing of an entire population.

The shift to EVs is happeningβ€”fast. Manufacturers can either embrace the long-term transition or chase short-term gains by clinging to petrol and diesel.

China is choosing the long view. Many in Europe aren’t. The risk? Ending up with cars no one wants, lost market share, and shuttered factories.

140,000 homes are currently being left vacant in Australia. 32,000 homes in Melbourne alone!

Air BnB has 160,000 homes on its books.

There are thousands of developers land banking properties in our cities.

We could legislate the end of a housing crisis very quickly.

Gas power’s business model is disappearing. Solar has cut into daytime operation. Batteries are starting to take the rest. And that’s bad news for Australian LNG.

"[LNG]Imports for China this year are estimated at around 64.6 million tons, down from 78.27 million in 2024" Reuters (today).

Here is what that looks like for China compared to what was predicted by BloombergNEF in the middle of last year. So they forecasting mid 80s and it is actual mid 60s.

To answer my own question.

β€œAs is evident at Gorgon CCS, it stored only about one-third of its annual target capacity in FY2024-25.”
β€œ …, the total CO2 stored by the world’s CCS projects is little more than 10MtCO2 a year or 0.00026% of global fossil fuel emissions.”

Energy transitions can happen faster than we think:

In 2000 almost 90% of Denmark's electricity was from fossil fuels.

In 2024 less than 10% of Danish electricity was from fossil fuels.

We now have an unprecedented level of income & wealth inequality.

It isn’t acceptable that the top 1% owns more wealth than the bottom 93%, while a majority of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.

We must stand together & create an economy that works for all, not just the few.

Last year, the world added a record 582GW of #renewables energy capacity. That’s over 91% of all new power – with #nuclear nowhere. In fact, each year, nuclear adds as much net global power capacity as renewables add every two days.

Rondo Energy deploys Southeast Asia’s β€˜first industrial Heat Battery’ Rondo and SCG Cleanergy have commenced operation of Southeast Asia's first industrial thermal BESS at SCG's cement plant in Thailand.

Heavy-industry sectors like cement have long struggled to decarbonise because their processes require very high temperatures.

That’s why the new Rondo Energy heat-battery project in Thailand is such a big deal - powering a cement plant with low-carbon steam.
