There’s both a large tariff (I believe it’s 100%) and some set of import restrictions that i don’t claim to understand. Between those two, it’s not possible to buy a Chinese EV in the USA.

I am sure this is totally obvious but to any of you I am not at all in the least bit saying it’s good. It’s just simply the case that this horror will lead to most nations moving faster off oil and gas for national security/economic reasons

Apologists for all this will say Delgado wasn’t running a good campaign or he was a “long shot” or that he was a moderate congressman.

Yes. We had an opportunity for a better future with a serious candidate running to Hochul’s left in the primary. But Mamdani endorsed Hochul super early and then Wfp refused to endorse him. And dsa acted aloof. All that killed Delgado’s campaign, and he dropped out. Now this is what we get.

These Ds “evolve” under pressure. For example a Kathy Hochul was outright opposed to New York for All, the NY bill to restrict police work with ice. Now she’s pushing her own version, under pressure. Still opposes the actual bill… and if she’d just support it, it’d have been been done years ago.
