and that was the painting finished! i can't post the full image til you sell out the calendar for good, but here it is looking very cool on my wall (6/6)

i sent the final painting for approval and lore (aka @skyesmithdotjpg.bsky.social ) and other dropout folks in the feedback chat came back with some very good easter egg ideas (5/6)

that concept got approved so i moved onto a color thumbnail! i keep these files intentionally little so i don't get sucked into painting details, im trying to keep in mind how the colors will work if youre looking at it hanging up on a wall, kinda far away. (4/6)

if im feeling particularly stuck sometimes ill doodle with black pen and sharpie to see what cool shapes happen. one of these ended up pretty close to the final sketch (3/6)

the first thing i send is a b&w thumbnail sketch, a mini mood board, and descriptions of the location. the purpose of this stage is to have the basic composition and moment i chose approved so i can move onto color. (2/6)
