Please be advised that the Torbay Arts and Culture Hall of Fame Ceremony originally scheduled for this evening, February 21, 2026, has been CANCELLED due to anticipated inclement weather.

This ceremony will be rescheduled for a later date.

Please be advised that the Inclusion Advisory Committee All Abilities Family Fun Day originally scheduled for tomorrow, February 22, 2026 has been POSTPONED until Sunday, March 15th, 2026.

There will also be light snacks and refreshments as well. This event will serve as a kickoff to the Town of Torbay offering more inclusive activities for residents. For more information please email jenmartin@torbay.ca.

Join the Town of Torbay’s Inclusion Advisory Committee for the All-Abilities Family Fun Day on Sunday February 22, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the Torbay Common! The event will include a bouncy castle, soft play equipment, and other activities in the multi-purpose room.

Registration for Town programs and events will be open for Torbay residents on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. The general public will be able to register for our Town Programs and Events on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.

October 9, 1859 | The cornerstone of the second Holy Trinity Church in Torbay, then intended to be named the Church of the Blessed Trinity, was laid by Bishop J. T. Mullock. The church would be consecrated on October 12, 1863.

Historical fact: The 1836 Census returns for Torbay showed a population of 723 inhabitants and 132 dwellings. By 1840, there were 47 children attending school in Torbay!
