The rest of the world was sick of Trump in 2020. He is an indelible stain on the US reputation and history. He is the embodiment of idiots, who have been told they are exceptional, because of the the dirt they were born in. Get rid of him now! 3 years is too late!

He mentioned on a podcast that he had studied the techniques of Augusto Boal and his ideas about the โ€˜Theatre of the Oppressedโ€™. It makes complete sense of why he is so good at reframing questions and not accepting the premise behind them.

Sums up their warped sense of logic and exceptionalism. Where are they going to leave to? They will become the immigrants they despise so much. Maybe, they can wallow in their self loathing in a deliciously referencial way?๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Should have booked a smaller room. A waiting room at a provincial railway station would have done the job.

One of the good things about living in Portugal is when you hear โ€˜expatsโ€™ in the supermarket and can avoid them by speaking Portuguese. We have spent nearly 20 years doing this.

200% tariffs is tell. It is a poker raise that tells you the player is going on tilt and he is trying to bluff a win. He is so going to get called.

Canโ€™t get over that despite it being a US government in crisis, full of political machinations and intrigue. It is still a functioning government struggling with the morals and ethics of its actions. A bit like watching a film with twin towers in the background.

Given Trumpโ€™s history with Russia going back decades and his murky dealing there, Iโ€™m sadly inclined towards the worst possible scenario. Plan accordingly.

Yes, that was what I was watching. There was a moment, when he did the โ€˜ maybe it will, maybe it wonโ€™t, I donโ€™t knowโ€™ thing. Made me feel like Taiwan is protected until it isnโ€™t.

I am desperately hoping that between DOGE and these tariff wars seed some meaningful resistance. It is difficult, because maga is salivating for civil unrest.

I think Japan & South Korea are fearful of Trump abandoning Taiwan to China. There was a hint to that in his presser last night and his hunt for rare earths in Ukraine and Greenland.

The Trump regime is disavowing all previous cooperation by blaming it on bad decisions by former presidents.
โ€œThe enemy of the moment always represented absolute evil, and it followed that any past or future agreement with him was impossible.โ€

I think all leaders in the west are very much aware of where the Trump regime stands. It is a question of how much time they have to stall him, whilst quietly disentangling and rebuilding. A lot now depends on the internal resistance in the US and solidarity of free western democracies.

Let's talk about Krasnov It's time to take a serious look at the evidence of Trump's relationship with Russia

Itโ€™s a desperate irony that with the end of the USSR, Ukraine had control of the worldโ€™s 3rd biggest nuclear arsenal. They gave it up for economic and security guarantees from Russia, US, UK and France. Putin has been breaking agreements ever since.

France has already said it will extend itโ€™s nuclear capability to other allies. Itโ€™s more complicated for the UK as it is too technically intertwined with US to make that offer.
