I am a normal enjoyer of Fire Emblem Fates for the Nintendo 3DS

I'd already replayed both Galaxy games last year on Wii so I'm not really in an appetite to replay the game; maybe the movie next year will change my mind but it's a weird Maro anniversary where the new game release is the least interesting part to me. The amiibo look neat at least.

I think my other big gripe is that it doesn't contain the additional story content from the Switch remaster; the Nintendo Direct made that clear but as someone with no interest in the remaster it is a bummer that I can't access the content without paying a markup for 2 Wii games I already own.

It's overall a cool collectible if you're a mega-fan of the game but I wouldn't overpay for it like I did, I wanted the book in Japanese and I trusted Shougakukan over Dark Horse Books (the publisher of the English version).

It's very much a no-frills 1:1 replica of the book from the game, absolutely zero ads for the Switch remaster or mentions/depictions of Mario Galaxy/Mario outside of the blue ribbon pictured, had it not been for that you wouldn't know that it's from Mario without having played the game.

A hardcover book with a star from the Mario on it, modeled after Rosalina's storybook from the Nintendo Wii game Super Mario Galaxy. On the book is a ribbon advertising itself as "Rosalina's storybook" in Japanese, "authored by Nintendo".

It never bothered me in my entire time playing SF4 but when put side by side like this it is really funny how much of a leap in quality the character art gets from SSF4AE onwards.

tbh my biggest hope for MP4 was a reprint of the Metroid amiibo but that doesn't seem likely 😔
