Seth - Otter - The assistant principal at his daughter's school. Used to taking charge but is capable of being silly. Daryl's husband and Hannah's dad. Transcript Panel 1 Daryl and Seth are sleeping when Daryl starts to make noises. Daryl: Mmmm... I... Mmmph... Panel 2 Daryl continues talking in his sleep. Daryl: Wha- Hel- Daryl lets out a loud gasp which wakes Seth. He can tell that Daryl has woken from a bad dream. Panel 3 Daryl has covered his eyes and is still talking. Seth places a hand on Daryl and tries to comfort him. Daryl: I'll- I'll be quiet. I- I- Seth: Daryl, sweetie. It was a dream. You're safe. Panel 4 Daryl reaches up and takes hold of Seth's hand. He's starting to feel more grounded in reality. Daryl: I'm sorry. It was the usual. Seth is relieved that Daryl is feeling better and smiles. Seth: It's okay. You're home and safe. Daryl still feels the tension from his dreams but feels better being next to his husband. Daryl: I love you. Seth: I love you too.

Daddy - Gator Days Transcript Panel 1 Daryl is serving a customer. He's just made him a drink and is handing it over. The customer's tab information is open at the register revealing his name is Kris Pun Name because Chris P. Bacon would have been too obvious. Daryl: Here's your drink. Kris (with a wink): Thanks, Daddy! Panel 2 Daryl (thinking): Daddy? Daryl is bewildered at this. Daddy? Why would anyone call him Daddy? He's not old enough to be a Daddy. Is he? What even is this? Panel 3 Daryl is at home in bed next to his sleeping husband. He's still obsessing over the whole Daddy situation. Daddy? Seriously? Really? Is he looking that old? Daryl (thinking): Daddy... Really? Panel 4 Daryl is watching the sun set and still feeling awkward about the whole Daddy thing. Where has his youth gone? He feels like he's still kid. Maybe he should ask his doctor about a colonoscopy. Daryl: Daddy... Dang.

Here - Gator Days Transcript Panel 1 A much younger and smaller August is outside and staring up at the night sky. He is overwhelmed with a strong feeling existence. He might just be a small part of the world but he exists. He has a thought. "I'm here." Panel 2 August is now a teenager and is once again looking up to the night sky. He's at a point in his life where he feels stuck. He's overwhelmed with a lot of negative feelings. He continues to exist. He thinks "I'm still here." Panel 3 August is an adult now. He's now stands under the stars while holding his infant son, Gustopher. He looks up and contemplates all that's been happening in his life. He wonders how he's going to keep going. He wonders how he's going to make things work. Within all of his chaotic thoughts, one sticks out. "We're here." Panel 4 August is now older. Gustopher is older too. They're enjoying the night sky together and talking about the stars. Gustopher is happy. August is happy. Life can be difficult but there's times like this that make it all worth while. "We're still here."

Top Shelf - Gator Days Transcript Panel 1 Seth is doing some grocery shopping. The top shelf of the aisle is filled with cans labelled "CAN of FOOD" and there are cans below it labelled "NOT FOOD". I'm pretty sure it's an actual aisle you would find in an actual grocery store. Seth is trying to reach the top shelf but he's unfortunately just a little too short for it. Panel 2 Seth struggles to reach up a little further to grab himself a "CAN of FOOD". These can's are unfortunately stacked in a staggered manner with each can on top being supported by two below it. This grocery store is pretty lousy. Seth is wondering why they even shop there. Panel 3 Daryl approaches and easily grabs a can for Seth. Daryl: I got this, babe. Seth is filled with a mixture of aggravation and gratitude. Panel 4 Seth holds his "CAN of FOOD" tightly. He has to voice is frustration. Seth: I want to be tall. Daryl: You're cute the way you are. Seth: I don't want to be cute! I want to reach things.

Panel 1 Grace, Bolero, Ember, and Mothleby the toy moth are hanging out and trying to decide what to play. Grace has an idea. Grace: Want to play house? Bolero: Okay, I want to be the dad. Ember: NO! I'M THE DADDY! Panel 2 Grace looks down. It's never easy to assign roles when they play these games. Grace: I want to be the dad too. Ember: WE CAN'T ALL BE THE DADDY! Panel 3 Suddenly, Bolero is struck with inspiration. Why can't they all be the dad? Bolero: Why not? Ember: GOOD POINT! Panel 4 Peace is restored. Grace tightly hugs her toy moth, Mothleby, who has also decided that he would also like to be the dad. Grace: Our family is different but happy. Bolero: I'm gonna be sad about eggs. Ember: I'M GONNA YELL AT SPORTS! The four dads all begin to try to come up with the worst jokes imaginable to tell each other.

Panel 1 Olivia and Polly are attempting to watch TV together but they're mostly arguing over the remote. Polly wants to watch anime and Olivia wants to watch anything but anime. Olivia: I don't want to watch your boring cartoons! Polly: It's called anime and- Mom is coming! Panel 2 The sisters instantly begin to act like perfect angels. They do not wish to burden their mother with their arguments. Penelope: Girls, I have to run to the store. Please be good. Olivia: Yes, Mama. Polly: Okay. She's probably off to get delicious treats for good daughters who don't destroy the living room in an hour long battle for control of the TV. Panel 3 Olivia and Polly wait patiently for their mother to leave. They are ready to act as soon as she is gonr. They watch the door carefully and hear it softly close. Panel 4 Olivia leaps into the air in an abrupt attempt to snatch away the remote. Polly takes a defensive position. Neither are willing to admit this, but this struggle is more fun than watching TV. Olivia: GIVE ME THE REMOTE! Polly: NEVER!

Battle for Control - Gator Days

Panel 1 The first day of day camp is over and the camp staff are taking time to unwind and relax. About a third of them are are broken. Dan is drinking a refreshing Diet Green Soda and is sitting with his friend who is drinking Brown Carbonated Liquid, the inferior store brand version of Brown Soda. A tired Eva approaches them. Dan: Eva! How was your first day working Day Camp? Eva: Horrible. Panel 2 Eva is visibly exhausted and is in dire need of coffee. Another camper approaches her from behind. Eva: The kids don't listen. Half of them stink. I'm dreading tomorrow. Grace: Excuse me. Panel 3 Grace is behind Eva holding her toy moth. She has something important to say. Grace: I... Uh... I... I... I HAD A GREAT TIME! I can't wait for tomorrow. Panel 4 Eva is filled with appreciation for the little camper. Grace was one of the quietest kids and know that she had a good time changes everything. Eva: I can't wait too. Grace: Thank you! Bye bye! Eva: Bye.

Panel 1 August is getting some work done when Gustopher comes in. Gustopher: Dad! I know you're busy today, so I made you lunch. August: You did? Panel 2 Gustopher: Yeah! A peanut butter sandwich! August: Wow, that sounds great. Thank you. August is surprised. Gustopher has never made lunch before but a peanut butter sandwich seems pretty fool proof. Panel 3 Gustopher triumphantly raises the sandwich in air with a celebratory "Ta-da!". The peanut butter is piled high and contains a multitude of interesting food items inside. This is truly a bone app the teeth moment. Panel 4 Gustopher: Oh, and we're out of peanut butter. And sour gummy worms. And popcorn. And- August jumps in before Gustopher can mention the marshmallows and caverns of chocolate flavored sauce buried deep within the core of the sandwich. August: Let's split it. August makes a mental note to teach Gustopher how to cook a few things.

Let the Kid Cook - Gator Days

Panel 1 August is in bed. He's woken up before his alarm went off. Mewbert is asleep on top of him. Nougat is wandering around by the side of the bed. August (thinking): I think I woke up before my alarm. Panel 2 August begins contemplating what to do. August (thinking): I'm wide awake. Guess I could get up. Panel 3 August checks the time on his phone. August (thinking): As long as it's not too earl- Panel 4 August realizes that it's far too early to wake up and he's feeling too awake to go back to sleep. He is frustrated. Nougat reaches up towards August. Nougat: Maw (possibly meaning "Good, you're awake. Listen, you know that stuff you put in the bowl on the floor in the kitchen? That stuff is great. I need more of it. Seriously, a lot more. There's not nearly enough. The bowl is pretty much empty. I know you can do that thing where you shake the bowl and there's suddenly more in it. I need you to be doing that all the time. Could you do that for me? Thanks."

Early to Rise - Gator Days

Panel 1 Douglas has been drawing at the park with Gustopher but it's time for him to leave. Ben: Douglas, we're leaving. Douglas: I have to go. Gustopher: Bye, I had fun drawing with you. Panel 2 Douglas admits to himself that he did have fun with drawing but he still feels sad about how his dad reacted to his picture. He's lost a lot of his motivation to make art. Douglas: It was fun. I'm just bad at it. Gustopher: Having fun is a good reason to draw. Panel 3 Douglas is at home in his room. He's thinking about drawing. He did have a lot of fun drawing with Gustopher but he just keeps wishing he could be better. Panel 4 Douglas begins to draw again. He draws a picture of himself with Gustopher in a forest with blue trees. He had briefly considered making the trees green but he likes making them blue. In this moment, it doesn't matter how good he is or what anyone else thinks. He's just enjoying what he's doing.

Douglas (Part 3/3) - Gator Days

Panel 1 Douglas and Gustopher have been drawing at the park and are having a good time. Douglas: Drawing is fun. I love it! I'm going to show this to my dad. Panel 2 Douglas shows his picture to his dad. He's not very confident in his abilities but he liked how it turned out. He eagerly waits for his dad's reaction. Panel 3 Ben: Trees aren't blue. Douglas feels all of his excitement drain out of him. He knows trees aren't blue. He just felt like trying something different. Panel 4 Douglas goes back to Gustopher. Douglas: I hate drawing.
