So, I finally started reading ABSOLUTE MARTIAN MANHUNTER and wow.

Yeah, I see now why it topped a lot of people's lists last year. I must have spent a full five minutes staring at the last page of issue #1. Never seen that done before and it absolutely cannot be experienced in a digital format.

I ran the latest session of my TMNT tabletop RPG tonight. I basically had two directions planned. The players chose the direction I hadn't quite fully planned for, but it worked out great, anyway.

I also ended it on a massive cliffhanger that I didn't plan, but fell upon right at the end. 😁

Is there a new Critical Role? Maybe they're colossal nerds.

I'm pretty sure it was a Marvel Transformers comic. I bought them for awhile, but I didn't seriously hunt for more issues.

I didn't get fully hooked and collecting comics until the Death of Superman TPB.

I still can't believe Marvel waved around their giant-sized Man-Thing on screen.

Oh sure, no question. The ads aren't nearly as egregious as YouTube, Amazon, or Disney+. I just wish whenever you play old shows that they'd use the ad break times to their advantage.

For me, "ads out of nowhere" kills Tubi and other streaming services like it. I wouldn't mind them as much if they were at least timed properly, especially with old TV shows that ALREADY HAVE BUILT-IN AD BREAK. TIMES.

I don't think a paid model is necessarily a bad thing if base Tubi remains free.

So, here's the thing with me and ads on streaming specifically.

I hate them, yes.

But what I hate about them specifically is, unlike cable, the ads aren't timed with the show/movie. There's no ad break cut. Half the time, the ad cuts right into the middle of dialogue, breaking the flow.

Ripper? I hardly know 'er!
