If you've been thinking about getting MHFA training, I can't recommend it highly enough. And whether you're thinking about getting MHFA or not, maybe spend some time thinking about how you can be compassionate to yourself today, because we can always use that. ❤️🩹

My MHFA training is vital for my coaching & volunteering: I have the confidence to step into really tricky conversations, because I know I have the tools to support someone in the moment and to point them in the right direction for other resources or ongoing sustained support, if needed.

I'm so proud to be a member of @mhfaengland.bsky.social - I use my training all the time in my coaching and volunteering work, and in life. you never know when something big or unexpected is going to pop up for someone - or for yourself! The first step in MHFA is looking after your own wellbeing.

As part of my workshop, I'll be talking about one way I took control and helped process what was happening to me when I was diagnosed with breast cancer: I made it into art. You can read more about the art I made with my wonderful glassmaking collaborator Inge Panneels here: doi.org/10.1162/leon...

What does courage mean to you?
In early English it meant our vital spirit & truest truths.
I'll be asking the same question to kick off my workshop on Saturday. I always find it inspirational when people's words of courage come flooding in. Join us!

One of my favourite stories I'll be telling on Saturday is about a time I was a little TOO quick off the mark with courage... Come along and hear me tell the one about someone shouting for help in the fog! No, that's not a metaphor... actual fog... yorkshirefestivalofstory.com/event/findin...

Saturday 8 November! Join me online for a workshop on finding courage in the complicated! I think we all live in the middle of 'complicated,' one way or the other. But we've already got the tools to face up to, and flourish in, whatever life has in store. yorkshirefestivalofstory.com/event/findin...

Inner gremlins! They might seem annoying or even scary when they crop up, but they always have good intentions for us - even if they're going about it in the wrong way. Read more about how to deal with them & meet my adorable handmade gremlins in my newsletter: buttondown.com/caitlin_coac...

This month's Courage Pie 💪 🥧 is on getting along with our inner gremlins! Those little niggling voices that hold us back. How do we learn to connect with their positive messages but create more effective strategies for change? 7 PM UK time, 28 October. us06web.zoom.us/meeting/regi...

Noooo I actually love the theme
Unlike the Ted Lasso theme which still causes me an angry eye-twitch even though that show stopped airing two years ago

Do you think that would more likely have happened with a less well-known writer? I can't imagine a debut author being allowed to expose themselves (or publisher) so badly. & that makes me wonder who is acting in the author's best interests when they become a huge money-spinner for other people.

Last night's Courage Pie 💪 🥧 was all about stories we tell ourselves: the 'life scripts' we run on autopilot which may not be serving us so well anymore - & how we can update them to reflect who we are now and who we want to be. More? Sign up for my newsletter: buttondown.com/caitlin_coac...

This month's Courage Pie 💪🥧 is all about Eric Adler's concept of the 'life script': unconscious stories we tell ourselves to navigate life - and how to update the script when we want to. Coming up on Tuesday 30 September at 7 PM UK time - join us! us06web.zoom.us/meeting/regi...
